  1. One of my first jazz records was a Teddy Charles Prestige date of Night in Tunisia and other things, as I recall; with Jimmy Raney. I've been sentimentally disposed toward him ever since. RIP.
  2. How does an RV cost $2.1 million?
  3. sonnymax, I don't see the linkage. Why can't someone have lots of integrity, and not see much wholeness in everyone and everything around him?
  4. I thought that someone from Philly would know, but I guess not. The player pictured is...Jess Richardson.
  5. Happy Birthday 2012 flat5!
  6. Well, it looks like no one knows, but I will give the weekday crowd the opportunity to have a chance before I reveal our mystery guest's identity.
  7. Here's a collection of eight videos concerning the destruction of peeps! http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/04/11/8-fun-ways-to-destroy-peep/?intcmp=features
  8. In regard to the facemask, I remember when he was still playing fifty years ago that it was said that he was the last player. The website that linked me to that photo repeated the claim. Evan, your spoiler link is interesting because it disagrees! Oh well.
  9. Nope! I can't think of any more clues to give!
  10. Take a look at the Patriots' #75. Those of you who are football trivia buffs may know the answer to this question. He was the last man to play pro football without a face mask. I had his bubble gum card in 1959 when he was with the Eagles. Who is he?
  11. My first year of high school (8th grade) was the year of the British Invasion. I listened to a lot of that on the radio, but I spent my money on instrumentals - Al Hirt in 8th grade, The Ventures in 9th grade, the Tijuana Brass in 10th grade, and then on to jazz - first Ramsey Lewis, and then moving quickly to Groove Holmes. I didn't have any high school friends who liked jazz, but I had a few in college, and a jazz class was where I met my college girl friend! But to answer the question posed by the OP, I still like the jazz I listened to in high school and college.
  12. Amazon has been heavily promoting this album when I log onto their website.
  13. Alec Guinness Collection - $9.98 Kind Hearts and Coronets The Lavender Hill Mob The Man With the White Suit The Captain's Paradise The Ladykillers http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=B001LXIDUO
  14. Mission Impossible - The Complete Series - $98.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ref=pe_170690_23418870_pe_b2_t/?ASIN=B002L9N4N8
  15. Thanks guys! I've put them both on my Amazon wish list.
  16. Happy Birthday 2012 Evan!
  17. I'm enjoying this one a great deal. It's very laid back, swinging in a relaxed way. The sax Noah Preminger has a terrific tone, but doesn't play a great deal. I'd like to hear an album of his own.
  18. In the late 80s my computer was an Atari 1040ST, and I subscribed to a couple of Atari magazines which were always talking about his plans for the company.
  19. Draft Day is May 3. Here is an excellent Duane Forde article which discusses seven important factors on the minds of CFL GM's which are not considerations of the GM's of other pro leagues. http://tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=392518
  20. Happy Birthday 2012 save!
  21. Happy Easter 2012 everyone!
  22. Thomas Kinkade has died suddenly. His work never appealled to me, but he made a lot of people happy with it, so for that he should be commended. I noticed this in his obituary: " He read classic books but also enjoyed shooting and blowing up things on his ranch." http://www.mercurynews.com/bay-area-living/ci_20347297/thomas-kinkade-one-americas-most-popular-painters-dies
  23. Happy Birthday 2012 Alison!
  24. Smith Dobson, like Bob Gordon on the way to a gig.
