I mentioned in the Happy Birthday! thread that yesterday was Dan Yochum's birthday. His was an interesting story. He was Philadelphia's 2nd round draft pick in 1972. They offered him $18,000, and wouldn't budge. So he sat out the year. The following year, he approached Philadelphia, and asked what their offer was. They said, "The same. $18,000. Take it or leave it." So Yochum then contacted Montreal, and said, "What will you pay me?" They said, $32,000." And at that time, the Canadian dollar was more valuable than the US dollar, worth $1.05. So today, Yochum is in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. ***** Edmonton 47....Hamilton 22 Ford was still suffering from his rib injury from last week, so Bethel-Thompson returned as the starter.
