  1. Welcome to the board, Kingpin. Please post often. I appreciate your thoughts to this thread.
  2. Awesome. Thanks David!
  3. I have been interested in his later recordings of late and recently purchased The Great Paris Concert and Afro Bossa. I also own And His Mother Called Him Bill, Money Jungle, Duke/Coltrane and the Far East Suite. I actually I had gone through an old copy of Penguin Guide To Jazz recently which spurred further interest. I imagine there might be a relevant thread here many years ago but I was too darn lazy to do any extensive research. That said, PLEASE indulge me. What are some of your later fav Duke recordings?
  4. Peter, when you get the opportunity please post your impressions of these recordings. I've had them on my radar and have read some positive reviews. I respect your opinion.
  5. I didn't know this recording existed till a short time ago. Glad to have this in my possession, Live recording at UCLA in 1981.
  6. How is that one?
  7. I remember seeing Eddie perform at least 20 years ago at a gig when I lived in Kingston, New York. I had an opportunity to talk to him briefly during a break and bought a cassette of one of his recordings. I told him anyone who played with Howlin' Wolf was ok in my book.
  8. Purchased this the other day and now listening to disc 1 . A Sea Symphony.
  9. I went through some boxes a few weeks ago and dug out all my classical music collection. I now have it all separated from all of my other music. So hopefully I can dig back into some of this going forward. Hoping to hear more from this Shostakovich collection.
