  1. Antonio Bastardo of the Phillies suspended for 50 games PED use. He should ask for a refund.
  2. Saw it. At first I thought Young might bear some responsibility for what happened. But after viewing it a few more times I think it's Hudson's fault. He put his foot right in the middle of the bag, covering the whole bag. Young didn't have time to alter his path. If any good comes out of this incident it will be that coaches will use this film to show their players what can happen when you don't have your foot set correctly at first.
  3. What a dbag. And no apology for Dino Laurenzi, Jr.??? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mlb/news/20130604/ryan-braun-biogenesis-steroids-mlb-suspension-dino-laurenzi/
  4. We were housemates the year that he dropped out of school. It was the beginning of an intense transition period for him - a metamorphosis from Ivy leaguer to complete societal dropout. The change from "David" to "Moth/Mott" made it very difficult to live/be friends w/ him sometimes. Despite all that I still think of Mott as a great guy and a good friend. He was incredibly brilliant and was VERY passionate about social & environmental justice. I know this is going to sound like a cliche but, I truly believe he was someone that would give you the shirt off his back without any thought of getting anything in return.
  5. Thanks for that story Quincy. I wonder where they got "Mark" from??
  6. He had an inspirational life. Read about it here. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/10/business/mott-green-47-dies-founded-grenada-chocolate.html?pagewanted=all
  7. http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/9301536/major-league-baseball-suspend-20-players-including-alex-rodriguez-ryan-braun-part-miami-investigation
  8. BREAKING: MLB will seek to suspend A-Rod, Ryan Braun and about 20 players connected to Miami clinic.
  9. Dom Brown is playing out of his mind right now. I don't know how long it will last but I'm enjoying the ride.
  10. Another blown call or why I favor expanding instant replay https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-YHRT_MEDFDc/UaqAf_HnQaI/AAAAAAAABFc/nQjanjZ5wrE/s500/pickoff.gif
  11. Too bad for the Tribe they don't have any more games vs. the Phillies.
  12. Why? Because he's 1-8?? Don't look at the record or his ERA(which. is inflated because of 2 bad starts in the beginning of April and shitty defense by the likes of Michael Young). Stats only tell a part of the story. He's been pitching really well for most of the season. He's not getting support from his team either with the bat or the glove. Yesterday was a prime example. The Phillies were only able to manage 1 run(which came on a balk) against Strasburg and then Michael Young threw away what should have been an inning ending DP that allowed 2 runs to score and opened up the flood gates. From ESPN... "Hamels (1-8) had his latest no-support outing, striking out six and allowing only three hits through six innings. He has lost five straight starts, has had only 20 runs of support scored all season when he's been in the game and hasn't pitched with a lead since April 7. " If the Phillies put Hamels on the trading block there would no shortage of teams that would want him.
  13. As far as post retirement shows goes May '77 is a very strong month. The 5/12 show I think has only circulated as an AUD recording so that's a nice upgrade.
  14. This is friggin' HILARIOUS!! "Kemp's recollection was similar to something that happened to former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, who was rebuffed by one of his favorite players when he was growing up. As fate would have it, he later faced that same player in a game and hit him with a pitch." OK. So this means Kemp's gesture was phony concern for a cancer victim...? I'm sorry. I don't follow the logic. Sigh... The humor in the quote has nothing to do with Matt Kemp. It's all about what Lasorda did to some dbag.

  16. I hesitated to post this because the accusastions are so serious and the deceased has no way of defending himself. But this story seems to be getting a lot of discussion elsewhere. Accusastions of child molestation... http://www.santacruz.com/news/2013/04/30/the_life_and_legacy_of_bob_brozman (read comments)
  17. No complaints. Okay minor complaint - MY is leading the majors with 9 GIDP this season - including 2 tonight so far.
  18. Buchholtz = Spitballer??? Or maybe Blue Jays broadcasters = sour grapes? http://mlb.si.com/2013/05/03/just-spitballin-buchholz-accused-by-blue-jays-broadcasters/
