  1. It was a good non-call. The refs had been letting that go all game. It would have looked bad if they decided to call it there. Plus, it looked liker the receiver pushed off with a hand to the defender's face/hemet. Bullshit. If it was the other way around, you'd say the same thing? I sincerely doubt it. It could have gone either way. My first reaction was that it was PI but after seeing the replay with Crabtree pushing off on the defender's helmet I think he was guilty as well. But in the context of the game where, as you noted in your previous post, the refs where letting A LOT of shit go it would have been bad if they had called PI there after all the shit they ignored all game. Not too mention they would have opened themselves up to the whole "fix is in" argument seeing how a SF TD would have let them Niners cover the spread. Then, with all due respect, you weren't watching the same Super Bowl I was. This is not about covering the spread. It is about making sure a San Francisco team doesn't win and an East Coast team does. Win one for Lewis, the double-murder suspect. The refs were tampered with and even the referees acknowledge that because of the complaints as to who and how they got chosen. The game was fixed. Screw these guys. I know you're upset because your team just lost but to come on here and say that the game was fixed over and over again just makes you look silly. Take a step away from the keyboard. Relax. The Niners had a great season and they have a great shot at being back in the Super Bowl next year. Take comfort in that.

  4. Has any of the Horo catalog made it to CD officially?? Ditto for BYG.
  5. Brothers. I've always liked Justin Upton for some reason, think he as a ton of talent, good outfielder, I felt that the D'Backs asked him to do too much at the plate. Now in Atlanta, I see him having a great year. Braves are going to be a dangerous team. Meh. How's the pitching? Probably one of the top 3 staffs, top to bottom, in baseball. Atlanta is stacked as are the Nats. The only thing that works in everyone else's favor is that one of those two teams is going to have to play a one game playoff. And we all remember what happened last year.
  6. I'm startning to think that Orlando made out the best of the 4 teams involved in the Howard deal from last August.
  7. Going to this on Monday... http://www.arsnovaworkshop.com/events/barry-altschuls-3dom-factor-01-14-2013
  8. I don't see the Yankees, as presently constructed, making the playoffs next year.
  9. Apparentlt it will have to wait until the next revision of the Köchel catalog to get a number. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6chel_catalogue
  10. A lot if IFs there. I doubt that the Mets will have one of the best rotations in baseball in a year or even two. We shall see. Given the Mets' track record over the past four seasons, one has to be doubtful. As a Phillies fan that has seen Harvey pitch, I agree with PhillyQ. Dickey had a great year but what are the chances that he does that again? 1980 World Series meets Family Feud
  11. These Hamilton/Phillies rumors just won't die. Latest rumor is 3 years for $80M. Hmm...
  12. I have a version of this played by Narciso Yepes that was put out by DG from 1971. I'm not sure if DG ever released it on CD. There is a recording of the Villa-Lobos by Yepes along w/ Guitar Concerto that was put by DG in 1988 but I can't tell if this is a re-issue of the earlier recording or a newer recording from 1988. http://www.deutschegrammophon.com/cat/single?PRODUCT_NR=4237002
  13. I took his "History of Jazz" course as an undergrad. He opened a lot of musical doors for me. http://www.philly.com/philly/obituaries/20121208_Neil_Leonard__Penn_jazz_historian.html
  14. It's quite possible that when the MLB season starts in April that the Phillies will still have won a game more recently than the Eagles.
  15. Looks like their only competition will be the Nats. I know you're a Philly fan, do you think that their time has passed or can they squeeze some good years from Lee & Halliday and have enough offense? Is B.J Upton the Upton brother who plays hard or the one with the so-so effort reputation? The Phillies' window is just about closed. The only way they make the playoffs in 2013 is as WC. I think the Mets will make some noise next year too. I think Justin Upton is the better player of the the two brothers. He's signed to a 6 year/$50M contract w/ the Diamondbacks that expires in 2016. So yeah it appears the Braves overpaid. It will be interesting to see what kind of money Hunter Pence gets when his contract expires next season.
  16. Well the Braves might be the favorite in the NL East now BJ Upton signs for 5 years and $75M
  17. Hendrix on the Dick Cavett show One of the greatest electric guitar performances ever captured on film.
  18. The Eagles are #1 ..... in solar panels. In fact they have more solar panels than Steelers, Niners, Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Patriots, and Packers COMBINED. Chew on that, you miserable multiple Super Bowl winners! http://www.philadelp...fe-6138d805bd6d
  19. Question: Just a few days before Thanksgiving, who last won a game, the Phillies or Eagles? Answer: Phillies
  20. Whoa. Ken Rosenthal says that the Miami Marlins have traded Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, and Mark Buerhle to the Toronto Blue Jays for Yunel Escobar, and Adeiny Hechavarria, Henderson Alvarez, prospects. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/miami-marlins-toronto-blue-jays-blockbuster-trade-jose-reyes-josh-johnson-mark-buehrle-yunel-escobar-emilio-bonifacio-111312 They should just remove baseball from south Florida.
  21. I didn't like the idea of trading for Bynum last summer and I like it even less now. I'm thinking January is being optimistic. I doubt if he will ever suit up for the Sixers. It reminds me of when they traded away Moses Malone for Jeff Ruland. Ruland's knees were shot and he retired after playing only 29 more games(18 as a Sixer). The only good thing about the Bynum trade is that we got out from AI's contract and Bynum is only costing us a year. Still this season is a waste. No way they can knock off Miami or Chicago with this lineup. EDIT: Ruland first retired after playing just 5 games for the Sixersin the 1986-87. In 1991-92, Ruland made an aborted comeback, playing 13 games for the Sixers before suffering an Achilles injury. He ended his NBA career in 1992-93 by playing 11 games for Detroit.
