He's MLB's next Milton Bradley. Two weeks ago here in Philly some fans were heckling him and he got so pissed off he turned around and fired a ball right into the stands. It hit a fan, who by all accounts had not been one of the hecklers, in the head. Lucky for Morgan the fan declined to press charges. What an ass. it's too bad, he seems like a very likable guy, at least from what I saw during a spring training story. But this is beyond bush league. I didn't even hear about the ball into the stands thing til a few days ago(never saw the footage) then last week (I think) he bumped hard into the Cards back-up catcher (Who was standing up two feet away from home plate) and was called out since Pudge was pushing him to go back to the plate he missed touching(Teammate can't touch you for some reason, learn new rules every day) He needs to be suspended for 2 weeks at least....And good for Gabby clothes-lining him! Morgan suspended for 8 more games

(It's true. I just read the annoucement on his FB page.)

That's sad. RIP. Now to blast Black Ark!

Serious pitchers duel tonight in Colorado. The Phillies won 12-11. The two teams combined for 35 hits.

Shit. I just found out he canceled his fall tour. Bummer. I hope he's going to be OK.
-
Well now I finally know why he canceled his U.S. tour last summer. Apparently he's doing better having tour w/ Neil Young this Summer and w/ a U.S. tour scheduled for this Fall. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/aug/25/bert-jansch

So I think it's safe to say that while the Mets have not been mathematically eliminated they're done. September 1st and they are 3 games under .500, 10 games out of the WC, and 13 games back of the NL East leading Braves. Cheer up Mets' fans. Hopefully this year's finish will finally be the impetus to get rid of the M & M show at long last.

I seem to remember him doing something similar last season with the Phillies. I think he won his first 3 or 4 games then lost 4 in a row. He won the last 2 or 3 regular season games and was un-hittable in the post season. Not time to hit the panic button yet. Okay, NOW it's time to hit the panic button.

Poor Jonathan Broxton. You have to wonder what goes through his head whenever he pitches vs. the Phillies. Everyone remembers(well in Philly anyway) the BOMB Matt Stairs hit off of him during the 9th inning of game 4 of the 2008 NLCS. Then there was the Jimmy Rollins walk off double off of Broxton with two outs in the bottom of the 9th of game 4 of the 2009 NLCS. This season just over 3 weeks ago Carlos Ruiz capped an EPIC comeback(after being down 9-2 to the Dodgers in 8th) when he hit a walk off 2 run double off him. He lost his closer's spot the next day. So last night the Phillies face Broxton again in the 6th with the bases loaded and well what happened??? Carlos Ruiz smacked a two run single to extend the Phillies lead to 8-4. Ouch.

Welcome back Bruce.

The best lefty in anyone's pen?? He's pitched one inning. ONE.

Then Victorino cried about it forever. Sheesh, the pitch wasn't that close.... Oh c'mon. Everybody knows that he only cried about it until the Phillies won the World Series 3 weeks later! Dude we swept the NL's best Padres at their home and got swept by the NL's 2nd worst at our home in the same week.

They have been selling it in a 12oz. bottle sans cork for over a year.

Wow. Talk about poetic justice. Two years ago in the playoffs the Phillies and the Dodgers were playing. Kuroda intentionally threw at Shane Victorino and just barely missed beaning him. And who should break up Kuroda's no hit bid in the 8th?? The Flyin' Hawaiian.
-
Ugh. Kuroda has a no hitter going into the 7th. I'm going to bed I can't watch this happen.
-
Too bad for Rod Barajas that he can't play vs. the Phillies every game. Through the 5th inning tonight he's 8 for 15 this season with 3 HRs and 8 RBIs.

Phillies are getting no-hit through 5. I know it's early but I got a bad feeling about this one...

The Legacy edition of Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions brings together recordings from Hendrix's appearances on a variety of BBC radio and television broadcasts from 1967 through 1969. The two CD Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions comes packaged in a six-panel digipak and includes a never before released 30 minute bonus DVD documentary. The film features the group’s famed January 1969 appearance on "Happening For Lulu" which featured Hendrix interrupting the live broadcast to perform a ferocious rendition of Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love” together with interviews with Jimi Hendrix Experience bandmates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding as well as BBC staff producers Jeff Griffin and Bernie Andrews detailing the legendary sessions. The acclaimed 2 CD set includes Hendrix’s unique interpretations of such classics as Bob Dylan’s “Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?,” Muddy Waters “Hoochie Coochie Man” [with noted British blues enthusiast Alexis Korner on slide guitar], the Beatles “Day Tripper” as well as two songs featuring the dream pairing of Stevie Wonder with Hendrix. :excited: Oh this must be it.

I think it's a little early to speculate. So much can happen in September. That said I would also add that Jimenez threw a no-hitter back in April and Halladay pitched a perfect game in May and leads the NL in CG(8). Halladay has only received 23 runs in support during his 9 losses. If you toss out the one game where the Phightin's scored 6 runs that means he has 17 runs in support during his other 8 losses. I would also include Cliff Lee. His WHIP leads the AL and his K/BB is 13. 13!!! That's not only historic, it's downright freakish.

Oh I am, but you know, and I'm sure the fans of that team from the Bronx will agree, no matter how many rings your team wins you always want more.

Lincecum looks like crap tonight. Again. Man, what is going on with that guy anyway? It's called losing several MPH off your fastball, that's all it is. Just like with Javy Vasquez. Ghost said he saw 91-92 for Javy the other day against the Jays, but they homer and a flyball out the next inning they showed on Baseball Tonight were in the 86-88 zone, and unless you have Greg Maddux movement, have a really good sinker, or you are a crafty lefty, you can't compete with that crap. I get what you're saying, but Vazquez is a 34 veteran, with a lot of miles on him, while Lincecum is 26, and has only three full seasons in the big leagues. I cannot remember another case where a top level pitcher, in his prime, lost 4-5 miles of his fastball, and there is no physical cause. And it goes beyond just loosing some stuff off his fastball, there really is no movement on any pitches he has, change-up, slider, they're all nothing pitches right now. In the SF paper this week, there was a big article where the Giants are saying Lincecum & Panda are out of shape, and that is the source of their problems. I think there's a lot to be said for that, it seems as if Lincecum is wearing down after three seasons, and at the age of 26, he should be getting stronger not weaker. I think we discussed a couple of years ago how Lincecum's delivery was going to get him at some point. He just too small to be throwing that hard. He makes Pedro Martinez look like a big guy. I'm actually shocked that he hasn't broken down before now. Also before Lincecum went 0 for August his last game that he pitched he threw 123 pitches. Maybe he's getting a little "dead arm" and should skip a start?? Can't believe the Phillies won last night in 12 after Bradley Thomas Lidge blew the save.
