  1. Now for some non LeBron content.... I know it's only 3 games and it's Summer League but the Sixers PG of the future Jrue Holiday has been playing very well. Now if we can just unload Elton Brand on somebody....
  2. LeBron will make more money if he signs w/ Miami then if he stays in Cleveland
  3. Amare Stoudemire just signed w/ the Knicks for 5 years and $100 million. I can't believe the Knicks are tying up that kind of money in a guy who has had micro-fracture surgery on not one but two knees. You would think they would have learned after all of their past signing busts. Eddy Curry, Jerome James, Jared Jeffries, ....
  4. Omar Infante???? WTF??? Does he have embarrassing photos of Chollie w/ a goat??
  5. Strasburg an All-Star??? I say no.
  6. A 60-90 minute wait is a standard for pediatricians in my experience. Especially in flu season. My doc is usually 20-30 minutes.
  7. update: Utley will be in a splint for five weeks. Out minimum of eight. No surgery for Polanco but he's out 3-4 weeks. Sigh.
  8. Utley to have surgery later today on his thumb. out 6-8 weeks. Season over.
  9. Who could forget him ! I think he may be a she by now.....
  10. Famous L Renfroe As The Flying Sweet Angel Of Joy - Children (Big Legal Mess/Fat Possum)
  11. Sabbath Assembly - Restored To One (AJNA) Edit: Product decription from Amazon.com: 'Restored to One' is a modern response to the musical activities of a cult who used music to spread their visions of Gnostic reconciliation in a time of cataclysmic change. Sabbath Assembly has re-charged the original hymns of the Process Church of the Final Judgment and worked them into moving renditions that unite the trinity of rock, psychedelic and gospel into one triumphant re-awakening. The Process Church was an intensely creative, apocalyptic shadow side to the flower-powered '60s and New Age '70s. The influential group opened Chapters in London, Europe and across the United States. Dressing in black cloaks and walking the streets with German Shepherds, they created their own heavily-designed magazines and promoted a controversial, quasi-Gnostic theology that reconciled Christ and Satan through awareness and love. Marianne Faithful, George Clinton and Mick Jagger participated in Process publications, and Funkadelic reproduced Process writings in two of its albums. The Process Church has been accused of being part of a widespread Satanic underground conspiracy by true crime pulps, most notably Ed Sanders' The Family, which linked the family to the Manson murders. The real story of this never indicted by secretive group and its true leadership has at last emerged with Feral House's LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH: The Inside Story of The Process Church of the Final Judgment written by former members, including Timothy Wyllie, and edited by Adam Parfrey. The recording follows on the heels of a highly successful, strategically planned series of live shows across the US in the fall of 2009, which presented a ceremony featuring "Sabbath Assembly" performing the original hymns of the Church - all previously unrecorded. More live events shall follow along with a documentary on the PROCESS made by William Morris of Skinny Puppy, a video for a song from the coming release, standard CD and LP releases and an archival LP box set (including readings of Process sacred literature by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Adam Parfrey, and Lydia Lunch, as well as LOVE SEX FEAR DEATH author Timothy Wyllie), and an off-Broadway theatre extravaganza based on the rise and fall of the Church titled "Gaming the Gods." 'Restored to One' features the following: JEX THOTH - Jex Thoth (I Hate Records), Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice (Ecstatic Peace/5RC), James Jackson Toth (Rykodisc) DAVE NUSS - Drummer, No-Neck Blues Band member, Sound at One records proprietor. Organizer of Yahowha 13/Source Family first-ever East Coast appearances and curator of Source Family's Magnificence in the Memory archival release (Drag City, 2009). The album is produced by: RANDALL DUNN- recording engineer genius known for his work with Earth, Sunn0))) and numerous other heavies.
  12. "This Thursday LeBron James begins his free agency, and he's being courted by Chicago, Miami, Dallas, New Jersey and the L.A. Clippers. Of course, according to the NBA rules, those teams can only offer him $95 million over five years, while his current team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, can give him $125 million over six years, meaning we will soon have the answer to the eternal question: would anyone choose to live in Cleveland for $30 million?" - Stephen Colbert
  13. Jesus, with all of the injuries the Phillies are starting to resemble last years Mets. Now Polanco and Utley are headed to the DL. Utley may require surgery. If that comes to pass they might as well pack it in. No way they make the playoffs w/out Utley. I think they have had their starting line up intact for about 15 games. Don't even get me started on the pitching staff. Wow. Lidge served up a 3 run homer in the 9th to Votto to tie the game.
  14. Coming into tonight's game Placido Palanco had hit into 5 double plays in 255 at bats. Tonight he hit into 3. WTF? Edwin Jackson pitching against his former team the Rays tonight - through eight 0 hits, 7 BB, & 134 pitches. Jackson comes out to start the 9th..... Strikes out Upton on 3 pitches to start the 9th! Blalock flies out to left for the 2nd out..... Willy Aybar is Tampa's last hope.... Aybar walks. Bartlett is behind 0-2 in the count... He grounds out to the SS. Game over!!!!!!!! WAHOO!!! Jackson's line for the night - 9.0, 0 Hits, 0 Runs, 8 BB, 6 K, 149 Pitches.
  15. 11-10 Twins.
  16. The Phillies just continue to find new ways to lose. Today they had a 5 run lead heading in to the 9th at home and lost 10-9 in 10 innings. Whoops. I heard wrong. It's 10 all in the 11th. Not looking good w/ men on 2nd & 3rd for the Twins.
  17. I only saw the last 5 minutes of the game. I wanted LA to win badly. It's not that I like them(Kobe is a great player but a chump off the court)but I just detest the Celtics. I have no rational reasons as to why I do it's just that I have always disliked them. Though I loved Havlicek. Oh and Red Auerbach once gave me his autograph while smoking a cigar on a flight, which was way cool. But I digress.... Anyway I thought the Lakers got the benefit of almost every call in the last 5 minutes of the game. The one really bad call that I will always remember was the non-call on Gasol with about a minute to go. He was under the basket trying to take a shot and when he went up got his shot blocked. As he came down he managed to get off another shot but it looked to me in real time that his feet were on the floor. The shot went in. Replays showed his feet were clearly on the floor before the ball left his hands. Horrible non-call - not as bad as Ron Joyce's from a few weeks ago - but pretty bad and possibly a game changer. Anyway... the Sixers made a weird trade yesterday. Sending Sammy D's expiring contract to Sacramento for Spencer Hawes(he of really bad knees) and Andres Nocioni. Nocioni is 30 and scheduled to make $13 million total over the next two seasons. His skills are diminishing and he was arrested for DUI this past season. Ugh. Hawes is in the last year of his rookie contract but I wondering how much he'll be able to play. He had season ending surgery his right knee a few weeks ago. He already had major surgery on his left knee in college. I'm just hoping the Sixers will do the smart thing and draft Evan Turner. However, knowing their track record in the draft I'm sure they'll blow it - again.
  18. I realize this is a little early to be talking about Free Agents but I found this great link by the Sons of Sam Horn site on MLB rules & procedures. I was never sure exactly how draft compensation worked... http://sonsofsamhorn.net/wiki/index.php/MLB_Rules_and_Procedures#Compensation_for_Teams_Whose_Free_Agents_Sign_Elsewhere
  19. Dang. I'm glad he got some well deserved recognition the past few years. RIP, Bill.
  20. Hey Dan can you tell your guys to take it easy on Kendrick today?? How about keeping it under 10 runs?
  21. As if Americans weren't lazy enough already.....
  22. They already did. He played his first game vs. the Phillies on Tuesday. He looks really awesome. Great defense - played RF better than our scrub Ben Francisco did. He has speed and he can hit. Don't know about his power and I hope not to find out any time soon According to what I just read, in Double A this season he had 21 homers and a .726 slugging percentage. Not too shabby I guess! Yikes! The thing about him that I find impressive is that he has a lot of poise for a 21 year old kid. He came up w/ a man on and two outs in the 8th and got a hit that gave the Marlins the lead. He was very patient and worked the count until he got a pitch to hit. I know it's only one game but I think he's going to be a stud.
