"When played wet"? How can you play a wet record? MG Some people swear by it. Use a brush to cover both sides with non-ionized water and play it through. Supposedly it eliminates a lot of noise and decontaminates the surface as well. YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS!!!! MG I tried it while taking a shower. It sounded great !! Keep swinging Durium

TOM MARION and his SWEET HOLLYWAIIANS Tom Marion, known for his participation in R. Crumb's Cheap Suit Serenaders and the Bo Grumpus band was guest performer with the Japanese string band The Sweet Hollywaiians. They made a great CD with the difficult to pronounce title 'O Surdato 'Nnammurato. ( no, no Japanese ........ ) 'O Surdato 'Nnammurato - Tom Marion and his Sweet Hollywaiians Keep swinging Durium

SWEET HOLLYWAIIANS This Japanese band released earlier this year two great albums filed with hot hawaiian, jazz, swing and calypso music, very popular in the first half of the XXth century. Nowadays this music is still popular and played by men like Bob Brozman and Robert Crumb. Hula Girl - Sweet Hollywaiians Keep swinging Durium

A special concert Fifty years ago, the 17th of August 1957, the Jay Jay Johnson Quintet performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. This group featured a lot of known jazz musicians like Jay Jay Johnson - Bobby Jaspar -- Tommy Flanagan - Wilbur Little and Elvin Jones A second, less known group of young musicians, The American Jazz Sextet performed also that evening and featured a young rather unknown alto saxophone player George Braithwaite, better known as George Braith. This American jazz saxophone player, now almost forgotten, played for the first time in the Netherlands at this concert 50 years ago. He became known for is experiences to play two horns simultaneous like Roland Kirk and for his Braithophone- a double horn he developed. He made three great albums for Blue Note, now reissued on a 2CD set. But few people know about his special relation to John Coltrane. A unique musician. George Braith - a lost hero? SCREEN SONGS I'm sure, you once must have felt some preasure to sing-along with a song you heard on the radio. Maybe you even did so. There is no need to be ashamed for that. In Japan it seems that karaoke bars are very popular and here in Europe there are some too. Not a new invention, as in the 1930s the Screen Song as released by the Fleischer studios ( yes - Betty Boop !!) did do the same. If you're anxious now ( and you're the only one at home, please do so ). Enjoy it !! Max Fleischer Screen Song Keep swinging Durium
