Albert Beger's best recording (IMHO) is *Hevel Havalim*, a trio with Gabriel Meyer (bass) and Hagai Fershtman (drums and percussion). When you listen to it you can easily identify his sources of influence: Ayler & Rollins. I strongly Recommend. Beger's discoraphy.

I love the Parlan set but I think Parlan recorded his best sessions (at least the trio sessions) for SteepleChase and not for Blue Note.

Happy Birthday Sidewinder!

Johnny Griffin was scheduled to play in Tel-Aviv next weekend. Eventually Griffin canceled his visit due to his poor health and there are rumors about heart attack. I'll be grateful if one of you has some more information about Griffin's health and can keep us updated.

Israel- Switzerland: 1-1. I think both teams can be disappointed.

The Israeli national team is playing this evening in Switzerland. It is not going to be an easy game for both teams. Any comments Flurin???

Andrew Hill set is much better and more interesting than Dizzy Reece set, IMHO of course.

In light of the long list of future releases, I must ask you this question: What will be your next purchase from Mosaic??? Or maybe you plan to buy another set and not one of the future releases??? I am waiting for two of the new releases: Charles Tolliver and Oliver Nelson. What about you???

Kenny Drew was born on August 28, so his birthday will be tomorrow of course....

Today is Kenny Drew's birthday. He could have been 77. He was a very talented and special pianist. His duo recordings with NHOP are among the best in this format of bass & piano recordings. I plan to listen to it today. Happy birthday Mr. Drew.
