  1. Here's Lady Day by Jack Lonshine.
  2. Not too much on jazz, but a nice cover and the band is TP.
  3. Here's another one just for you Tooter. Turk Mauro. By the way, Tooter, your band pictures look pretty swingin'. What else were you doing on that tour besides playing?
  4. Here's Lester Young done by my partner and friend for over 50 years, Jack Lonshein. This is one that you may have seen on the cover of one of the Mainstream albums of many years ago. Jack was the artist for that label and if I get some requests I will post more of his work.
  5. Michael Moore in his younger days. He now looks like Father Christmas.
  6. Just for you Tooter. Here's Tal Farlow and one of my favorite shots.
  7. These are my Louie Prima albums. The first two are definately worthwhile for dixieland fans. They are both on the Classics label. As you can see, "Call of The Wildest" is paired with "Wildest Show....." on a CD with both LPs on it. Pretty Music and Wonderland At Night, both LPs are also on one CD. This is definately late night background music. The first two should be your choice if you want to find out what Louie was really like before his lounge act. LOUIS PRIMA & HIS NEW ORLEANS GANG 1934-1935 LOUIS PRIMA & HIS NEW ORLEANS GANG 1935-1936 LOUIS PRIMA & KEELY SMITH: TOGETHER LOUIS PRIMA & KEELY SMITH-BUONA SERA LOUIS PRIMA FEATURING KEELY SMITH LOUIS PRIMA VOLUME 1 LOUIS PRIMA: 1940'S BROADCASTS W. KEELY SMITH. VOL. 2 LOUIS PRIMA: 1944-1945 LOUIS PRIMA: BEEPIN' & BOPPIN' LOUIS PRIMA: BREAKING IT UP LOUIS PRIMA: CALL OF WILDEST/WILDEST SHOW AT TAHOE LOUIS PRIMA: LET'S SWING IT LOUIS PRIMA: PRETTY MUSIC/WONDERLAND BY NIGHT LOUIS PRIMA: SAY IT WITH A SLAP
  8. Here's Phil Woods................
  9. Here's one of "Tooter's" favorites. Derek Smith. I took this at "Struggles" also.
  10. Since folks are making contributions here's mine. I took this picture of Zoot many years ago at a New Jersey Club called "Struggles". 35MM. No digital in those days. How's this "Tooter"?
  11. Wow! Thanks for that link to Perdido. Sounded great. I shall try to search this one out.
  12. Wow! John S. thank you. I hadn't been here in a little while and to my surprise there was the picture. Had a major crash of windows and had to reinstall and reformat. What a pain. Thanks again.
  13. Does anyone have this album? Jazzz (yes three z's) Records. With Mundell Lowe on guitar. If you do have a copy of this could I ask you to please scan and post the cover in the biggest dpi file you think the post will take. Thanks. I just got this album (no sleeve) and it's wonderful. Sure would like to know what the cover looked like.
  14. That's easy. Liitle Jimmy Scott's album on Tangerine. Paying $100.00 would probably bring a $500.00 profit on re-sale.
  15. Herbie Mann & Sam Most on Bethlehem (Avenue Jazz for domestic CD). On Japanese CD only, two more Bethlehems- Sam Most Plays Bird, Bud, Monk & Miles and also "Musically Yours". You'll have to find a Japanese store for export. "Flute Talk" on Xanadu CD. Also Japanese (Crown Records in Japan but I bought mine in the US.) I also have "Flute Flight" and "But Beautiful" burned to CD from LP. Willing to trade CD for CD if you've got something I want.
  16. It's P.O.V. and not P.O.W.. Chamber jazz. Lewis takes some wonderful solos as does Richard Davis, bass. Also featured are Mel Lewis, drums, Harold Jones, flute + violin and cello. If you are at all into what used to be called "Third Stream" (for want of a better description) you will love this album. If you are a John Lewis fan you will love this album. If you like good music without regard to putting a title to it, you will love this album.
  17. The album was (at one time) available on Capitol CDP7 46859 2 and was not an import. (on CD). John Lewis fans might want to check out (if they have not already done so) "Evolution, P.O.V (LP only I think), and probably the best of the lot "Improvised Meditation and Excursions". There's also a French Polygram called "The Private Concert" which is lovely. Tooter, your taste is "something else".
  18. John Bunch and Cal Collins made an album called "Jubilee" for the Audiophile label. Does anyone have this album? If you do, can you scan a picture of the album cover? Also, would like to have the track titles. I've just burned the album from an old tape to CD. Thanks.
  19. Totally depends upon your cartridge. If you enter your cartridge, followed by replacement needle, in Google, it will lead you to many sites that sell just needles. That's how I found mine for a 35 year old turntable and cartridge.
