  1. Same here, in 28 years I had much more car accidents then motorbike's ones. Maybe it depends on the fact that when I drive a bike I usually take much more care then with cars, also no music or cell phone or cigarette or drinks that distract my attention. Anyway when I am on my bike I wear always protective stuff even if I am in the Sahara desert, I sweat like a fountain, but I never got serious injury. Glad your bike is OK.
  2. Yep, glad you and your relatives are OK.
  3. My experience, though I had to lock my TT after the friends of my son wanted to hear how Zep and Who sound on vinyl, needless to say they were pretty stoned that time, I didn't appreciate the results.
  4. David Bowie - SPACE ODDITY - Ryko reissue, a psychedelic green transparent vinyl
  5. Is the opening side of the LP off-vertical, as if the guillotine was cutting the thing at wrong angle? Every one of this title I've ever seen has had that ! Yes it is. I hadn't spotted it until you mentioned it. It is pretty obvious once you know it. Question about original BN titles: Do some records have a NY label on one side and a 47 west 63 rd on the other? Are these real original records? Often BNs are pretty confused about labels, better check the stampers out on dead wax: look for the "ear" and "vangelder" or "RVG" stampers, if you want to be sure you got an early pressing.
  6. DAVIS/EVANS Mosaic.
  7. How can we know that you are the "real" JA rather then one of those body snatcher jars? Can you whistle a John Patton's solo?
  8. AFIK the first pressings of number up to roughly A100 should have a glossy label, later pressings and later catalog numbers have 'matte' labels, earliest design 'four logos'. About AM-PAR on cover no clues, on my Impulse!, didn't check all of them, I've got 'shiny' or 'matte' label in 'ABC Paramount' covers. I think Michel or Brownie or Chuck cleared it somewhere on the forum, but I don't remember where, maybe in "eBay craziness, vinyl edition" thread.
  9. Yuk, if your speakers aren't too heavy, or you are a amateur weightlifter, try this: http://stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/477/index6.html
  10. http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...&hl=Impulse! Has it a 'shiny' or a 'matte' label?
  11. Johnny Cash - ORIGINAL SUN SINGLES '55-'58 - Sundazed
  12. A FIAT? At 42 you deserve a DUCATI or a MV Augusta
  13. Arvo Part - TABULA RASA - ECM
  14. Bob Dylan - THE FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN - mono Sundazed reissue
  15. Great news! The best everyone could ever have! Congrats to the whole bunch.
  16. Bob Dylan - JOHN WESLEY HARDING - mono Sundazed reissue Bob Dylan - BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME - mono Sundazed reissue
  17. Mahler's Third Symphony, Solti/London Symphony Orchestra - Decca
  18. I don't think such law could restore copyright to material already on public domain, it would be a retroactive law, or ex post facto law. Such law could be enforce only to material still under copyright when the law would be proclaim. Plenty of retroactive laws passed. In the US a large amount of material that was in public domain got swept back into this ambiguous territory once the Mickey Mouse laws were passed. I was working on a poetry anthology where the earlier material was in p.d. one day and then the next, it was not and no way to trace the rights' holders (who had understandably not kept up on it past the earlier 50 year mark). The project was dropped. Maybe in another 50 years... Or I'll move to Andorra and start a publishing firm. Don't know in US, but over here every retroactive law has big chance to be rejected by Constitutional Court.

  20. Davis/Evans Mosaic.
  21. Ludwig Van Beethoven - Piano Trios - Beaux Arts Trio, Philips box set.
  22. Welcome back Porcy. Yeah, I'm aware of some of those options. Superline sounds special though - and the synergy with the rest of the Naim kit is an extra incentive. Would love to hear this thing powered by Supercap instead of Hi-Cap too. From what I gather, it's a significant improvement on the Linto. Thanks. About the topic, if I were looking for a phono amp, as actually I am, I would look for the best match cartdrige/phono stage, so if I have a Dynavector I'll look for a Dynavector phono stage, OR one phono stage that has adjustable loading, gain, etc. The problem with such "specialized" stuff is that hardly you can audition them and I am not happy to tear apart with my $$$$ without a serious listening.
  23. He’s A Rebel - The Crystals Ah, why am I not suprised?
  24. If you go with used you could get an Audio Research PH 3 in your range price. As most of AR stuff, PH 3 has a well balanced sound, not too sweet, not too hard, even if it's definitely "HIGH DEFINITION" as they claim on their gears, big soundstage. I love their stuff. You could get a Linn Linto too.
