  1. Now spinning: David Bowie - Heroes - RCA, german pressing, with half of title track sung in german.
  2. Charles Lloyd - Notes From Big Sur - ECM
  3. Tom Waits - Foreign Affairs - Asylum. edit: Wow! Shelly Manne, Jack Sheldon, Frank Vicari AND Tom Waits! I didn't even suspect such a record could exist.
  4. Tom Waits - Closing Time - Asylum.
  5. Hard to made a bet now. EC, as WC, is a though stuff, at the end prevail the team that have a perfect mix of good playing and nerves of steel, and that reach the top shape at the very end of the championship. Yes, some luck too.
  6. Please stop it guys! Otherwise I'll have to trash my rock records.
  7. If I were spanish I'd shout: VIVA VILLA! Uh...wait... did you say this Villa is mexican?...the wrong Villa? David, not Pancho? Great team, whatever mexican or spanish.
  8. Not really redundant, assuming that every remaster is something's new and different, unless you use a previous one as source, maybe inappropriate, I'd use "latest remaster", but we are talking about adjective.
  9. Congrats! Now you're hooked. After a while you'll crave for more GigaB's and you''ll need some sort of program in order to cure the addiction.
  10. And a (maybe OOP) 45rpm reissue as well. edit: I think SH did at least two reissues, the first one on DCC label. I think that the recording is soo good, thanks Mr. Du Nann, that it really needs only a plain transfert A/D.
  11. Medics held in Italy murder probe By Mark Duff BBC News, Milan An alleged plot by Italian doctors to carry out unnecessary operations in order to make more money has led to the death of five patients, police say. Two senior doctors at the Santa Rita private clinic in Milan have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Eleven others, including the director of the clinic, have been put under house arrest. They are being held on suspicion of offences including manslaughter, bodily harm and health-care system fraud. Police say five elderly patients died after undergoing unnecessary operations. Among the victims was an elderly woman who died after being subjected to three operations to remove a tumour when one should have been enough. Police say she was so weakened by repeated surgery that she died. Phone taps crucial Investigators say staff at the clinic falsified medical tests in order to get the go-ahead for the operations. In some cases, they say, staff boosted their monthly income by as much as 25,000 euros (£20,000). Prosecutors say that phone taps were crucial in exposing the scandal. Their use is a hot political issue in Italy at the moment. Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has promised to restrict their use to terrorism and Mafia cases - but magistrates say they are also vital to the investigation of other serious crimes, such as bribery and corruption. There is almost universal agreement that the abuse of phone taps - often to publish embarrassing personal conversations - should be stopped. But critics of Mr Berlusconi's plan say that without them, several recent banking and sporting scandals would not have come to light. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7444665.stm
  12. Great, so it's all solved then, you can leave the forum again. Very nice, but judging by past experiences that's to be expected of you, I suppose. I'll take your advice and leave again. J.A.W. If if you read well my first post I welcomed you and I was everything, but rude towards you. You posts were assertive and didn't show any hint of kindness, actually something like: 'I am glad to be back' or BS like these, so what would you expect from me?
  13. Great, so it's all solved then, you can leave the forum again.
  14. OK, I wasn't going to post on Org anymore, but I really have to step in. Porcy62 and Red, you're both wrong. Van Nistelrooij was ON-side when he scored the first Dutch goal. The rules say that a defender who steps or falls behind the line stays in-play in a case like this, so the Italian defender behind the line must be counted. It's different with strikers, once they step behind the line they're out of play. I don't know why there's a difference between strikers and defenders, but that's the rule. The referee was correct and the goal was a good one. It might be, though italian international referees said just the opposite you say, their interpretation is that if a defender, behind the line, can engage in the play is to be counted, but Panucci clearly wasn't, since he was down, anyway there will be some rumours about it, and the FIFA will explain. Nevertheless Netherland deserved to win, at least for the poor defence of italians, yes, Red, Cannavaro is a big loss. Van Basten was right, Donadoni was wrong, it's football. Kudos to the Oranje. BTW Welcome back, J.A.W. I hope you didn't drop here only for a stupid football match
  15. I am not really worried, italian's (teams) do it better when they have some pressure, anyway it's just football.
  16. Aha ! Looks nice. Wasn't the original plan to head up to Scotland? Not really, Nordkapp (Norway) is for (southern) bikers very alike what India was for hippies in the sixties.
  17. First goal IS off-side. Second one was great. Italy played a shy first half, they woke up too late, missed a couple of goals in the second half and Netherland got the third one. Italian defence was definitely lower then usual, Netherland's one better then everybody expected in the first half, quite short of breath in the second half, but Italy's playing was meaningless. The Orange gained with merit.
  18. Up to the land of the Jocks? If so, do check out the Isle of Skye. I think the toll for the bridge has now been lifted, too. Maybe Clunky can advise on some suitable vinyl pit-stops en-route? Not 'that' Nordkapp, this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordkapp 10,000 km, a motorbike and Porcy.
  19. I have the same feeling when I listen to Latin music - Cuban, U.S., Columbian, whatever. I know that I'm missing a lot, but sometimes I'm probably better off not knowing what the words are. Exactly. I am much more selective on italian songwriters, but in english... I just need a catchy tune or a guitar solo or a good riff and I am done.
  20. This thread reminds me that english isn't my mother language, that's why I loved so much rock/pop english music. I just didn't understand the words.
  21. Nordkapp, me and my faithful motorbike all alone, departure last week of June.
  22. In case you're serious do youself a favour and rent the DVD right now. You're talking to someone who watches maybe 5 movies per year, max. And it would less than that if I didn't have a girlfriend. -_- Oh, and I have to get a DVD player first (the first one broke down, and the last one was stolen). ~ Digital editing is indeed incredible. Well, Joe, in this case you HAVE to see it in some form: Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marlyn Monroe in one of the funniest movie ever and lot of jazz in it.
  23.  That's remind me the Modigliani hoax http://www.neural.it/art/2008/05/modi_20_m...ke_scul_1.phtml
  24. In case you're serious do youself a favour and rent the DVD right now.
