  7. Anyone know what this is? There is a 1:20 second clip with Cannonball on Kung Fu. Having watched that show religiously as a kid, I don't ever recall seeing this. I know someone with the clip and I will ask for a copy, but has anyone here know anything more about it?
  8. Thanks. I will search the board.
  9. Has anyone every seen this program? There is one episode with Diz, Roach and Jackie McLean and another one with Sonny Rollins. Are these shows available anywhere? I've checked Amazon and some other sites, but I found nothing.

  11. OOPS! There goes about 90% of recorded jazz! You think it is that hi?
  12. I understand your point about filling gaps, but it is still taking revenue for the artists; plus maybe, in the case of Rollins, he didn't like his playing that night and this is being sold. The artists should represent how he is heard and immortalized to his fans and critics. That's my take on it.
  13. That would make sense in this case. Maybe the session never took place.

  15. I found this old thread. Anyone have anymore info on the 2 unissued Grant Green sessions?
  16. The music was there, but I didn't stop to realize what a genius he was. I had a chance to see him but didn't on May 27, 2004. He was playing the Rose Room at Lincoln center with Lou Donaldson. Instead the wife wanted to see the musical "Mama Mia."
  17. A Streetcar Named Desire was such a great movie Karl Malden, the Academy Award-winning actor whose intelligent characterizations on stage and screen made him a star despite his plain looks, died Wednesday, his family said. He was 97. Malden died of natural causes surrounded by his family at his Brentwood home, they told the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. He served as the academy's president from 1989-92. While he tackled a variety of characters over the years, he was often seen in working-class garb or military uniform. His authenticity in grittier roles came naturally: He was the son of a Czech mother and a Serbian father, and worked for a time in the steel mills of Gary, Indiana, after dropping out of college. 23. Yeah, beat the bootleggers at their own game. One problem, those who would most likely be interested in the Ronnie Scott shows really aren't into MP3s.
  24. Another one. Lou Donaldson chatting with a women in the front at the Vanguard during a set. He tells her he has his blue pill in his pokcet.(Viagra).
