  1. I've said the same thing. But I most likely won't be alive in 50 years, but my daughter will. It will get tougher as the years go on if we don't stop burning fossile fules and cutting down the tress. I just read, the Earth as about a 10% increase of cloud cover in the past 45 years. We'll turn into Venus soon. No way for the trapped heat to escape the Earth.
  2. Since this forum houses many musicians, I was wondering if we could have some kind of a musical challenge. We would each write a tune, record it if we can, and maybe post it somewhere so that others taking part can listen. We would have those not competing pick the winner. It could be something you've already written, just make it something original. Do you think this is possible?
  3. I understand what you're saying, but it is clear as day where I live. The earth's overall temperature has risen 1 degree Celsius in the past 75 years. The polar caps are shrinking to where polar bears are finding it hard to hunt. Watching the Olympic Games this week, parts of the Alps were covered with a material to prevent the snow from melting away. Which would have happened if this wasn't done. Water lines along the cost are rising. I live 4 blocks from the Atlantic and the piers have water marks higher than ever before.
  4. Sonny Rollins, the concert for 911. Can't wait to listen to it.
  5. I live in NY. This past weekend we were hit with a major snow storm. The snow fall by me didn't start to stick to the ground until the storm was half way over. The ground was too warm. Three days later, it has already melted away a good deal of it. To my surprise outside my house today I saw tulips and pansies growing. I also saw my first robin on my lawn. Those birds usually don’t return north for at least another month. December and January have been the warmest every recorded in the north east of the United States. This may have been what tricked the robins to come back already, but it is not normal. Have you noticed any changes in the environment where you reside?
  6. Damn right. I'm going to sell mine if I could get that price.
  7. So what I've gathered so far, it seems you need to supplement yourself in some other way, other than just doing gigs. Spouses that work help a great deal.
  8. I’m curious if someone today can make a decent living as a jazz musician. Does it require you to also teach to make the bucks?
  9. On that day there were 311 memebers and vistors on line at one time. What was going on that day that drew so many users? Was it the baning of ariceffron? I don't remember.
  10. This is some great shit.
  11. Did you play by credit card? If it was, I would contact your credit card company and ask for their help. This happened to me once. I bought a bounch of CD's from Aebersold records but never got them. After they refused to provide me with the UPS tracking number, I sent all the emails and information to my credit card company. I got all my money back.
  12. The porn, that was going to be my next poll, but my hand were sticky.
  13. I am looking for someone who help with a project, jazz related? PM me if you can convert video to DVD.
  14. Well at least 5 answered 6- 7 times a week. For me that is way too many times to eat there.
  15. Like Bugger King. Their buggers are grilled. The fries are probably just as bad. Stay away from them all. I was a strict vegetarian for 17 years. I put no animal products in me. Then the doctor told me, that's is most likely why I went bald at 30.
  16. Wow, someone 6 to 7 times. I wonder who that was? I guess he or she doesn't want us to know.
  17. I never eat at McDonald's. The only time I get some fries from them is when I am flying out of JFK. How many times a week do you go to McDonalds? McDonald's Says Fries Have More Trans Fats By DAVE CARPENTER, AP Business Writer 2 hours, 41 minutes ago CHICAGO - McDonald's french fries just got fatter — by nutritional measurement. The world's largest restaurant chain said Wednesday its fries contain a third more trans fats than it previously knew, citing results of a new testing method it began using in December. ADVERTISEMENT That means the level of potentially artery-clogging trans fat in a portion of large fries is eight grams, up from six, with total fat increasing to 30 grams from 25. Often used by restaurants and in packaged foods, trans fats are thought to cause cholesterol problems and increase the risk of heart disease. The dietary guidelines for Americans that were issued by a government panel last year said people should consume as little trans fat as possible. The disclosure comes as McDonald's Corp. starts rolling out packaging for its menu items that contain facts about their nutritional content — a move made voluntarily but with the fast-food industry under pressure from consumer groups and the government to provide more information. McDonald's said it updated the nutrition info on its Web site last month as soon as it discovered the new level of trans fat. It explained the increase by saying an improvement in the testing process has made results more accurate. "As part of our ongoing voluntary efforts to provide our customers with the best science-based information, we continually enhance our testing," said Cathy Kapica, global nutrition director for Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's. Michael Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, called the change "quite a dramatic increase." He renewed the nonprofit health advocacy group's call for McDonald's and other fast-food chains to make healthier food — and for the Food and Drug Administration to ban the use of partially hydrogenated oil, the source of trans fat. Trans fat is made when manufacturers add hydrogen to vegetable oil — a process called hydrogenation. "Nutritionally it's a disastrous product," Jacobson said of the fries. "McDonald's could fry in canola oil or other liquid oil" as it does in Australia, Denmark and Israel, he said. Responding to the criticism, Kapica said the company is "very proud of our menu." "It is important to note that McDonald's menu has a wide range of choice and variety, with an array of portion sizes, including three options with french fries — small, medium and large," she said. McDonald's has been reluctant to risk changing the taste of its iconic french fries. It pledged in September 2002 to switch to a new oil that would halve the level of harmful trans fatty acid in its fries. But it has delayed those plans, citing product quality and customer satisfaction as priorities while continuing testing. McDonald's spokeswoman Anna Rozenich said tray liners and nutrition brochures containing trans fat and other info will be updated soon and the company Web site will reflect up-to-date information. The FDA began mandating that packaged foods companies report trans fat levels last month, but the fast-food industry is not under similar requirements. McDonald's shares rose 17 cents to close at $36.36 Wednesday on the

Wow, this sucks. 60. He had many years still.
  19. Can this program work with a dialup connection or does it have to be DSL, Cable or other broadband connections?
  20. Have a great one.
  21. I have been on a Warne Marsh kick, so I will have to check this out. Thanks.
  22. Yeah, but would you be turning in your grave?
  23. The only acts I saw at the Village gate were The Phil Woods Quartet and Jon Hendricks. They were both great. In the mid 1990's the Gate moved to 52 street right off of Broadway. I don't think it lasted too long. It was right outside the widow where I was working.
