  5. Shit, I always loved his sound. I will miss him, but the music will play on. R.I.P. FYI 2 or 3 weeks ago there is a used CD store not from where I live, it had the Jacquet Mosaic, jsut the 4 CD's. $32 plus tax. I have the Mosaic, so I didn't need it.

  7. Well they are all OOP, so you should get more then what you paid for them. How much more, depends upon who wants it more.

  10. This ape in Tel Aviv only walks on it hind legs. No answer can be found. "The Missing Link?" Two weeks ago, Natasha and three other monkeys were diagnosed with severe stomach flu. At the zoo clinic, she slipped into critical condition, said Igal Horowitz, the veterinarian. "I was sure that she was going to die," he said. "She could hardly breathe and her heart was not functioning properly." After intensive treatment, Natasha's condition stabilized. When she was released from the clinic, Natasha began walking upright. "I've never seen or heard of this before," said Horowitz. One possible explanation is brain damage from the illness, he said. Otherwise, Horowitz said, Natasha's behavior has returned to normal.
  11. If Drive is still up for grabs PM me. I will take it off your hands.

  14. Jack Wilson- Personal Touch
  15. Sad indeed. R.I.P.
  16. For such a long time I only would listen to his trumpet playing. Recently, I have come to really enjoy his singing as much as his trumpet playing. But I have to vote for his trumpet playing. He's likely one of the first person to solo on record.
  17. I guess Lion and Wolff took the reason to the grave.
  18. I can't buy that.
  19. How come Yoko isn't on the list? She did scream and talk on Revolution #9. This has to make her a Beatle.
  20. There has to be a real reason why it was passed. I don't think they were sloppy. BN ran a tight ship, down to every detail.
  21. Anyone know why 1553 calatog number was not used by Blue Note? I have always wondered why this number was skipped over. 1552 was a Jimmy Smith session and 1554 was a Art Blakey session. What happened to 1553?
  22. I couldn't waith for a Mosaic Select. I went out and ordered the TOCJ's.
  23. What exists of Dizz Bird and Sarah Vaughan together. I have an old tape of these three from a radio broadcast. Don't know anything about it other then the set list. Blue 'n Boggie Loverman One Bass hit No 1 That's Earl Brother Oop Bop Sh'Bam All the things you are East of the Sun Shaw Nuff Hot House Mean to Me A Handfulla Gimme Cherokee On the Alamo
  24. Do you think the guitar has the respectability in jazz as other instruments? For many years it didn't play a prominent role. Has it caught with the tenor sax or trumpet as a jazz instrument? I think it has. I feel the guitar from the early 60's and back was overlooked in jazz. It took very innovative musicians to give it respectability to the rest of the jazz community (musicians).
  25. Looks like we were down a bit.
