  1. Does anyone know about their teaming? Did anything every gwt recorded and released?
  2. Great. Are these stations live or taped and in a loop?
  3. It's so many years now since Vinyl ruled the music world, and most of my old albums I've upgraded to CD's. But, the ones that have not made there way to CD's, what should be used to clean them? I remember having a kind of lint brush that I would use, but long gone. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  4. Does anyone know how many sessions(CD's) are in this series? I have 13 CD's from this series. How many more are there? Thanks in advance I have these: Rusty Bryant Sonny Stitt Houston Person Don Patterson Vol 1 Don Patterson Vol 2 Jack McDuff Vol 1 Jack McDuff Vol 2 Richard Holems Sonny Phillips Gene Ammons Shirley Scott Red Holloway Charles Kynard
  5. What I ment by better, is more complex arragments. Better was too vauge of a word to use.
  6. True, I forgot to put him on the list.
  7. My vote is going to Duke Pearson. I really like the arrangement he did on Mitchell's "Boss Horn".
  8. Thanks for bringing that up, Rooster. The October 28, 1967 concert from Antwerp, Belgium is simply the best Miles live recording I have ever heard (I've heard almost all, including many bootlegs). As it is a radio broadcast, the sound is very good. I have this bootleg too, and it is great. I also have another which is just a few days later, 11/6/67, which is just as good. Then I also have others from around the same time, which the sound is just horrible. Has anyone heard the 11/6/67 date?
  9. Some Cd's are pressed from LP's or non masters. I believe some of the Blue Note CD releases from Japan were pressed from Vinyl. I believe Duke Pearson's the Sweet Honey Bee was done this was beause the master tapes were lost of damaged.
  10. Maybe they'll copy protect this board like they do with eroupean RVG releases.
  11. Dude, I don't think so. GOIN' WEST had come and gone by then. As far as I know, it's only had the one cover, unless there was an Applause thing I missed. But that would have been early-80s. I could be wrong, though. you're wrong (I think) I distinctly remember seeing a very ugly "mood"-photo with a guitar on a bluish background. Yes, that's the one. Need to find a photo of this.
  12. The goin' west cover was around the time this Silver records was reissued.
  13. No, this isn't the cover I am talking about. This was the original cover from the 1969 release. Later they had a picture of a real guitar on it. It was done in a country western style. Real cheesy. I going to spend the rest of today searching the web for a picture of it. It's going to be a real productive day at work today.
  14. I remember someone selling Grant Green's "Goin' West" on eBay. It had such a horrible cover of an acoustic guitar. Man, this is a real good reason why Blue Note went under. The quality went way down. I wish I could find that picture to post. The eBay auctions was more then 2 years ago, so no way to find it there.
  15. I've been playing Johnny Hodges and Wild Bill Davis' "Wings and Things". One day this has to make it to CD.
  16. Here are the 10 I listen to the most. I would have put more. If there are others just put them in a response.
  17. Can you describe the cover? Is it worse then this one?
  18. Hello, this may have been asked, but I haven't read through all 75 posts on this thread. Can you ask how many sessions Prestige did that remain in the vaults. If there are, what was the reason they didn't get released. Most likely Bob's answer will they were not up to par with the issued stuff.
  19. 4378: Gene Harris - The Three Sounds 1971. Is this the Live at Club it date? I have the Club It CD's, but not sure if this session is the same.
  20. 1) Blue Mitchell Bantu Village. It's for sale on Dusty Groove for $50. Too much for an LP. 2) Blue Mitchell - Collision in Black 3) Duke Pearson - Profile 4) Bobby Hutcherson - Now 5) Kenny Cox - Multidirection 6) The Three Sounds - Soul Symphony 7) Chick Corea - The Song of Singing 8) Wayne Shorter - Odyssey of Iska 9) Reuben Wilson - A Groovy Situation 10) Reuben Wilson - Set Us Free 11) Introducing Kenny Cox 12) Frank Foster - Manhattan Fever I'm trying to complete my Blue Note collection. These seesion I find to veryt har to come across. Any ideas where I can locate them. Been searching ebay.
  21. Thanks.
  22. Here's the worst one I've seen so far. Somethin' Else
  23. Is this the original cover for the three sounds record? I have a copy of this and it is different.
  24. This could not be the original cover for Jimmy Smith at Club " Baby Grand", vol.1. Must have been one of the 70's or 80's reissues. Any other bad re-issue covers that come to mine?
  25. Lee Morgan's Vol 2, has it ever been issued under a different title? Vol 1 has also beenn issued as Indeed! Thanks in advance.
