There have been many artists that have a album with strings. Bird, Wes Montgomery, Stanley Turrentine and so many others. Is this an attempt to grab a different audience or a seirous attempt to highlight the artists in a different light?

I believe it was Mel Gibson using a pseudonym.

1) Is anyone a member of this? 2) How does the trial period work? What are you allowed to try out? 3) Can you download as much as you like, unlike emusic? I was a member of emusic for 3 months. After downloading stuff, I usually went out and bought the CD's. I haven't been much of a fan of mp3's or downloading. I thought I would try this service out.

Yeah, I've tried to see him now 3 times, and he didn't make it all 3 times. I was told it is his health.

I was about to order this CD, until I read the reviews posted on the Blue Note site. Some say the sound is so bad that the music should have never been released. Has anyone here bought it? If so, how is the sound?

It is from Mosaic records.

The sound on this RVG is so much better then the rare grooves from the mid 1990's. I believe the masters were still lost. Maybe technology has increased and this helped in enhancing the sound.

Does anyone know of a site would list all the sessions recorded for this label? I know Argo recorded other music other then jazz, but what few albums I 've found from this label all swing.

What caought my eye was Coleman Hawkins on Tenor Sax.

So many jazz artists have died by using heroin. I'm just wondering why this was, and is the drug of choice amongst musicians. Did Bird have someting to do with this?
