Niners pulled off a surprise: They took AJ Jenkins a WR from Illinois in the 1st round. All this time I thought they were going after that guy from Baylor.

I saw this. It's encouraging. I just wish I had more faith in Curt Shilling's judgement. After all, he did pitch with a bloody sock. BTW, has that sock ever been DNA tested? It belonged to Heinz, didn't it?

You got me, Jim. This is the first I've heard of it. IMHO, Huff is not the type of guy to just bail on his team without a very good reason. Hope everything is OK. Anxiety attack apparently: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/baseball/mlb/04/25/giants-huff-anxiety.ap/index.html?sct=mlb_t2_a7 Not necessarily psychological, those things. Sometimes body chemistry can get weird with the heart rhythms and you get all the symptoms. "Anxiety" is just a name, not necessarily the actual cause. I have a friend who gets anxiety attacks from time to time...very disabling. He takes meds to keep it under control. Huff's wife filed for divorce in January so you can bet the ranch that has a lot to do with his poor performance on the field and this attack. He's on the 15-day DL so I wish him the best.

With any luck, and Pineda is fairly young still, his surgery will go well and he'll be back at full-speed. BTW...This Giants fan is glad to hear the so-called Tommy John surgery is so successful, too.

BTW...I love the ad at the bottom for Giants tickets

He was tossed from a game, and snuck back into the dugout using the costume pictured. Gotcha. Tell you what, JETman, keep replying to my posts like this and we can be friends. Do the spelling/typo/anti-teacher thing and we're done. Now how about it? Deal? Deal. But you've got to live up to your end, too. I am not anti-teacher. I had quite good ones here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuyvesant_High_School My problem is with the ones who are contributing to the stupidity of our nation's youth. "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." It doesn't help that my son's 9th grade English teacher doesn't know the difference between there, their and they're! I'm just bustin' on you. Sorry if I offended. The hypocrisy that is ever-present on this board sometimes offends me to the point of being downright pissy. Fair enough. Teachers are human, too. Mistakes are made. No big thing. It does not equal an absence of intellect. I would, however, caution you on making a decision about a teacher's ability via the eyes of a teenager. Having a teenage daughter myself [and a son who is now 21] and as a 30+ year veteran HS teacher I can tell you, and with absolute certainty, teens often look at life through a somewhat less than circumspect filter. Just sayin'.

What was it he did...?

Meanwhile, Giants sweep the double-header last night vs. the Mets. Both Lincecum and the Mad Bum looked good!

His name isn't Barry Bonds. Otherwise, the league would be on him like white on rice.
-
Back atcha, Jon. He's just another Dennis Rodman or Danny Ainge.

I agree. Ariza would have been a great guy to hang on to. What bothers me is Artest/World Peace didn't even bother to look back to see who he hit...like he didn't feel that hit? The Lakers need to dump him and soon.

Just trying to be nice, SS1.

Mine is to finish ahead of Baltimore. $178 million dollar payroll has to, doesn't it? And with no equivocation whatsoever, that will be my final comment on the 2012 baseball season. Aw, come on back here, Dan. Baseball talk on Organissimo just wouldn't be the same without your input. No kidding.

Lakers take a come-from-behind 2OT win away from the Thunder, but not until after Ron Artest, er...sorry, Metta World Peace got himself ejected for a totally classless elbow to the ear of James Harden. World Peace? Maybe the Lakers should have kept Lamar Odom and dumped Artest/World Peace instead. Wow.

Get while you can, I always say. I figure the Giants won't be a factor without Brian Wilson. Oh well. My mantra for this year will have to be: Finish ahead of the Dodgers.

YES..! That'it....I remember the name of the guy : Terry Evans! I messed up my scribblings that night and I mixed up Barry Galbraight and Terry Evans. Well, finally, 25 years later, I may add the correct name on the tape box...!:excited::rofl: Thank you all again! Michel Cool! Glad I could help

I hate to admit this, but I've never heard of Phillip Humber. Needless to say, I have now. The 21st perfect game in MLB history. Nice. Seems to be the trend of late. Jonathan Sanchez when he was with the Giants threw a no-no a couple years ago...nobody heard of him, either. Dallas Braden of the A's is another. Absolutely, and considering that if not for his two-out loss-of-it that led to the Tigers' only runs of the game we might well still be playing ball, cause for satisfaction, if you can ever look at a loss with satisfaction, and I think sometimes you can. He got out of it & kept the team in the game. Can't win 'em all! The "one bad inning" syndrome, geez, that's frustrating seeing with a young starter. Last season, remember, Holland & Harrison were always dealing with it, and this year, so far, the seem to have grown out of it. I suspect that Feliz will too. Your guys are looking pretty sharp right now, Jim.

I did a little research on All Music Guide and found an album Jimmy Smith did in 1986 entitled Go for Whatcha' Know. On it was the guitarist Kenny Burrell. Perhaps it was he who did that tour in 1987? The next album listed is a 1989 offering called Prime Time with Phil Upchurch and Terry Evans on guitar. Hope this helps. Here's the link: Jimmy Smith on AMG
