  11. Max Roach" We Insist! Freedom Now Suite From discogs: "The track positions have been modified for this reissue, as can be seen on record labels and insert (explanation in Japanese). This track listing modification is Roach's own intention especially for this Japanese release (written in liner notes)." I have a Japanese issue with the changed track order. I can't find out the reason for the change because I can't read Japanese. Does anyone here know why Max Roach changed the running order of the tracks for this issue?
  12. I bought it in an earlier edition. Okay, but nothing I listened to much. But then, I'm not a big Betty Carter fan, and others probably have a different opinion.

  16. A variation on the Desert Island Discs Theme; If your collection of recordings was destroyed, which would be the first ten you'd want to replace? My choices: Mingus Ah Um Louis: Complete Hot 5's and 7's Billie: Lady Day Cecil: Looking Ahead Bird: Complete Savoy Studio Recordings Complete Port of Harlem Jazzmen Ornette: Golden Circle Vol. 1 Monk's Music Rev. Robert Wilkins - Piedmont LP The Best of Muddy Waters I wasn't surprised at what I chose, except for what I left out - no Ellington, Trane (except with Monk), Rolliins, Pres (except with Billie), Miles, Bud, Ayler, and others, including some rarities by lesser known musicians. But these are the first ten I'd want to replace. And, hey, perhaps no one wants to thinks about replacing their collection. I just thought it might be an interesting subject.

  18. I've never owned a copy. I just remembered seeing an ad for it years ago in Down Beat. I'm sure it never sold much.
