Yeah - love that cut. Glad you know it and feel the same.

Listened to this one twice and liked it better the second time around. It sounds to me like it was a producer's idea to include Eric Dolphy on this date, but it worked ok for me once I got used to it. I found myself enjoying hearing Dolphy playing in a hard bop bluesy setting. Richard Williams plays some good things, though I could have done without his screaming backgrounds on "Alto-It is". That sounded like something left over from a JATP session and should have been left back there. George Duvivier is outstanding. He could play any type of music and sound good doing so.

I didn't know the man, but from his music it would seem that Monk had quite a sense of humor.

I hope that the Yanks go for pitching - not Manny or Harper.
