  3. Dolphy in Europe / Volume 3
  4. Guy Van Duser: Got the World on a String
  5. I used to have both sets of cards (plus, I believe a set of early "Country Music Heroes"). At some point, they didn't interest me anymore and I sold/traded them - too much stuff.
  6. Louis Myers: I'm a Southern Man
  7. Buster Brown: Raise a Ruckus Tonight (Fire/Relic)
  8. Doc Pomus: It's Great To Be Young and in Love (Whiskey, Women, And …)
  9. Kevin Barry: Beatlebone
  10. Harry Bosch, the protagonist in Michael Connelly's mystery series, is a jazz fan.
  11. Johnny Griffin: Vol. 2 (A Blowin' Session)
  12. His version of "There Stands a Glass" is great. I like it better than Webb Pierce's version or Conway Twitty's version, and I like both of those a lot. Unfortunately none the versions on YouTube are not from his On the Boardwalk album. That's the best version I've heard. This version is a good one:
  13. A hoax - or just a weird lady?
  14. I read one of Connolly's novels and didn't care for it - too violent and the plot was too bizarre (though his books are evidently quite popular). No connection to Bird - at least in that book. He's also written several young adult novels with a young character named Samuel Johnson and his dog. Boswell. I guess he has a thing for famous names.
  15. Bill "Jazz" Gillum: The Bluebird Recordings 1934 - 1938
  16. Clay Hammond & Z.Z. Hill: Southern Soul Brothers
  17. Ted Hawkins: On the Boardwalk - The Venice Beach Tapes (American Activities)
  18. Wilbur Ware Quintet: The Chicago Sound
  19. William Bell: The Soul of a Bell
  20. That's the Yankees - exactly. Sad to say.
  21. Waltz for Debby sounds good to me, but this one just has too much LaFaro for my taste.
  22. Sonny's on a roll (or a spin) at your place.
