  1. My feeling was that perhaps many Mingus fans might not be followers of Facebook. From the responses here, there seem to be people who are interested in this release who are not on Facebook. I could be wrong, but I could be right. Just threw it out there.
  2. Sent an email voting for a Mosaic issue - either 6 or 4 CDs.
  3. Fonzie Vinnie Barbarino Tony Banta
  4. A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ORNETTE COLEMAN!
  5. What I was able to find out... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_Original Thanks.
  6. Send him to the '65 Chargers then. Him & Lance Alworth would be AWESOME. Lance Alworth was one of those players who was just fun to watch.
  7. I cheated & found out who it is, but my lips are sealed. When I found out, it was interesting but not completely surprising.
  8. I have some doubt that a poll on Facebook would be representative of Mingus fans who would be interested in this music.
  9. Hale Irwin Irwin Corey Thomas Pynchon http://www.thomaspynchon.com/gravitys-rainbow/extra/corey.html
  10. Bud Powell '57 (Verve Japan) Strange title, since the music was recorded in '54 and '55. Was it released in '57?
  11. Bud Powells (sic) Moods (Verve Japan) Bud...So much feeling in his music. I wouldn't mind having Bud's "It Never Entered My Mind" played at my funeral. It sounds like a hymn to me.
  12. Vol. 2 of the above - couldn't find an image. More low down blues sides, including what may be Buddy Guy's first recordings. (He may have recorded for Jay Miller prior to these, but it's questionable whether or not it's Buddy Guy.)
  13. The Kings Sing the Blues Vol. 1 (Ace - the Mississippi label, not the U.K. Ace/Vivid Japan) Great, low down blues sides.
  14. Hoagy Carmichael Grinder's Switch Poor Boy, Long Ways from Home
  15. Iirc, there was some word that the master tapes were not available to Mosaic.
  16. Gale Gordon Gale Sayers Gale Garnett
  17. That "fool at your job" probably did you a favor as far as the Retrieval Oliver went. Can't say the same about Warne, Ornette, and Braxton.
  18. Famous Amos Amos Otis Otis Blackwell
  19. Not vinyl as such, but relates to it. Picked up a nearly new hardcover 1st edition (wonder if there was more than one edition) of Gunther Schuller's The Swing Era for $15 - not a steal, but an ok price. My local library has a copy, but I've found that there's too much to take in on "borrowed" time, so I bought my own.
  20. Dutch Leonard Frenchy Bordagaray Napoleon Lajoie
  21. Always hated that term, "product". It appears you do also.
  22. Except with Brewers fans.
  23. Charlie Palmieri: A Giant Step (Tropical Budda) Listening to this tonight, I heard a certain connection with Cecil - a piano as rhythm thing.
