  1. Blues from La. to L.A. (P-Vine)
  2. Penelope Lively: Pack of Cards
  3. John Patton - disc 2 I love the way that Clifford Jarvis breaks up the time and still keeps a groove going on That Certain Feeling. To me, it sounds a bit like a Roy Haynes type approach.
  4. Chicago Piano-ology (Chess/P-Vine) Little Walter plays some effective guitar on the Eddie Ware tracks.
  5. A pearl, a gem, whatever you want to call it -
  6. Home, Sweet Home
  7. The Harmonizing Four & God Will Take Care of You (Vee-Jay)
  8. Von Freeman - Ed Petersen; Von & Ed (Delmark)
  9. Frank Lowe: Bodies & Soul
  10. Mercy Mercy: The Definitive Don Covay (Razor & Tie)
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Sanchez's season less than stellar? They should send him back to the minors until he learns to hit and catch and plays his way back to the major leagues. Assuming he can. And send Boone back to the broadcasting booth.
  13. My first Monk experiences were Monk's Music and Brilliant Corners on Riverside, and that worked out fine for me. As long as you stay away from a few questionable Monks, you should be good to go.
  14. How many close games do the Yankees have to lose because Boone brings in his worst relievers? 3-1 after 5. Boone pulls Happ and brings in Cole, Kahnle, and Cessa. 5-3 after 6. Ended 6-3. Cole, Kahnle, and Cessa shouldn't be on the 40 man roster. Does anyone think that any of them will be on the 25 man playoff roster?
  15. I agree with Brad. It sounded like lounge type crap to me.
  16. Hank Williams: The First Recordings (CMF)
  17. Jackie McLean: Bluesnik
  18. Walt Dickerson: Shades of Love
  19. John Lee Hooker Volume One (Ace)
