Ives: Concord Sonata/Barber: Piano Sonata - Marc-Andre Hamelin (Hyperion)
Messiaen: Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps - Gruenberg/de Peyer/Pleeth/Beroff; Chronochromie - Dorati/BBC S.O. (EMI)
I thought I had this on LP, but I was thinking it was a flute/bass thing.
You're right - My bad. Somehow I had it in my head that Dolphy played bass clarinet on this - and even that isn't a sax. :blush2:
Just to let you know:
Dolphy/Israels - one track ("Hi-Fly) on In Europe Vol. 1
Webster/Hinton - two tracks ("Sophisticated Lady" & "All the Things You Are") on Here Swings the Judge
edit: If you're downloading individual tracks, that won't be a concern.
Dolphy w. Chuck Israels (Prestige/OJC)
Haden w. Archie Shepp - one track on The Golden Number
Ben Webster w. Milt Hinton (Famous Door/Progressive)
Fred Anderson & Harrison Bankhead (Ayler)
The guy goes to the hospital with a broken jaw and 'nothing happened'?! WTF!!!
One set of NFL rules for players. Another set for coaches.
edit: And a third set for Raiders coaches.
I wonder if it was more a case of Bob Weinstock finding Philly Joe unreliable rather than not liking him or his playing. Then again, Red Garland supposedly had "personal problems", so who knows?
R.I..P., Mr. Lucy.
I remember hearing him on Phil Schaap's show quite a few years ago. He must have experienced so much during his long lifetime - hard to imagine.
