  1. My father has a set of vintage JBL speakers back from when you used to walk in the showroom and have them made. They have been sitting with no use for around 15 years. My question...., is there any truth to what I was told, that the woofers may/will crack if fired up now?
  2. Don't do the cargo compartment if you can help it. It really freaks them out. Every animal I've seen come out of cargo was *flipping* out. If your pet is small enough some airlines will let you keep them on baord with you in a Sherpa bag. This is the way to go, assuming we're talking a small critter. The Sherpa website has some info on what various airlines allow: http://www.sherpapet.com/airlines/index.php?air_type= Where are you going? In the states you won't have a problem bringing your pet anywhere, as long as it is not an exotic breed. Going abroad various countries have odd restrictions (I know that France, for example, will not allow a house cat weighing more than 10kg and has a 24 quarantine period when you arrive - a friend had to put her cat on a diet in order to bring it back home!). The dog is actually my parents. Usually they leave it with my sister when they travel, but this time they are going back to Italy to stay and the dog is coming. The dog is a West Highland Terrier so they are border line weight and size wise with a carrier included. I'm afraid to tell them but I think the dog is going to have to ride with the luggage. The best fares are flying into London from JFK. In the past the U.K. has very strict quarantine rules but it looks as if they have relaxed them as long as you have all the records. London would just be a lay over as they planned on going to Amsterdam or Frankfurt while waiting for the car. So, I have no idea what quarantine rules/laws apply. Well, it won't be pleasant, but I'm sure the dog will get over the ordeal. BTW, I always get better fares flying from Newark to London - Newark is a far more convenient airport, too. I'm sure you've done your homework - just a general FYI. Actually the car is being shipped from Jersey, so more than likely they will fly out of Newark. After doing a little more research the UK is still much more strict than otehr European countries. I'm afraid because of all the paperwork needed they will not have enough time. I'm going to recommend that they just fly straight to Milan. I have a cousin that is going to try and arrange for the car to be taken to them. There is just to much involved in travelling for 2-3 weeks with a pet.
  3. What's that hanging from Dino's tail, and what is it for?

  5. Has anyone here ever travelled by air over seas with a pet (dog or cat, snakes don't count )in the baggage/cargo compartments? Anything to worry about?
  6. No shit? I found New Jack City to be extremely cheezy with some real bad acting. How Ice T continues to get acting jobs after that one is beyond me. I'll agree about Ice T. It was Snipes who impressed me. And Chris Rock. Still Rock's finest work in my opinion. Not that that's saying much... Rock's finest work not counting his stand up act was in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. "How much for one rib"?
  7. That "code of ethics" shit is funny to me. More than likely the reason dude doesn't give police help with info on the people that shot him is the police would find out how much he paid them to do so.

  9. 50! I thought you were much younger. Happy Birthday, Mark!
  10. I hear you. And there is a difference between a "Gangsta" and a true "Gangster". These days the term "Gangsta" is really more of a pop culture style rather than a reference to real criminals. Snoop Dogg likes to call himself a "Gangsta" and a "Pimp" but we all know he's not running hookers all over the country as he claims, and is definitely not involved in transportation and sales of narcotics. His lawyers, accountants, record lable execs, and managers would not allow it. While he may have been a street thug at one time, today he is nothing more than a "Studio Gangsta" living in Beverly Hills or wherever the hell he lives. They have to make traffic violations and every once in a while get busted with weed or a gun in order to keep the image alive. It's safe bet most of the kids wearing the "Gangsta" get up are really not criminals or thugs.
  11. Yeah I heard him talking about that during a radio interview a few months back. Baldwin has a history of issues with his temper and a bad divorce. He may have approached this the wrong way but and it may even be inexcusable, but I can't fault the guy for getting pissed. I have no children but I my lady has two teens. What Baldwin said wasn't shit by comparison and I know they deserve it. And JS is correct, putting this all out in the public does not make anything better, we may very well be missing big parts of the story.
  12. Scarface was just a movie and not a very good one.
  13. Thank you for everything. R.I.P.
  14. From the Bob Newhart show. He's married to Suzanne Pleshette. Lucky bastard! No shit, and she is 16 years younger than him.
  15. Happy Birthday, dude! Drink one, I dare ya!

    Junior Cook

Junior's Cookin' = I like this one with Horace Silver as well.
  17. Yep. There is also a chance that the construction may have moved or damaged a line as well. Also, check the connections on your set and from the wall, make sure they are tight and secure.
  18. That is the same mindset that the alcohol prohibitionists took, too. Some, indeed, are: I guess I have been using mine improperly, then. I don't think you can compare the two situations. Alcohol is a lot easier to make illegally than a gun is to build. I also think that Prohibition didn't have people's full support. Might be different with gun control. People might miss the weekly (and daily?) use of alcohol. You don't use your guns every day (or at least I hope not.) Different thing altogether. Most people that own a gun for personal protection would probably tell you they hope to never use it.
  19. Changing foods is very difficult. While the Iams dry I feed my dog is not on any of the lists and my vet assures me it is fine. My dog did have elevated potassium levels when they did a blood test a couple of weeks ago. She was retested Friday and checked out fine. Anyways, I thought I would try something else. My sister recommended this stuff, but my dog didn't take to it. On top of all that they are now included in the recall with the their venison foods. Fuck it, I'm cooking the shit myself.
  20. I'll correct you. While there was probably no cases of the "hey white guy..." scenario, there was a shit load of interviews with American citizens. While I don't believe his being Korean had anything to do with his actions, conducting interviews with people of the same race or nationality is a not an uncommon thing. The kid was a Korean National, not a U.S. citizen. That may not be a very important piece of the storu, but it is a piece nonetheless.
  21. Not only awful, but highly incorrect as others have already pointed out. Name another civilized country where you or I can purchase an assault weapon for our private use. Who needs an assault weapon to kill somebody? If the guy had his mind set on it as much as he obviously did, he would have found a way to carry out his plan no matter what kind of weapons he would have had to resort to. C'mon, BM. At one point he lined people up and shot them all down, execution style. You can't do that with a bolt action rifle. I heard the same story, but the news said that was never confirmed.
  22. I NEED THIS You're not the only one.
