Am I reading this right? He hopes to donate $40K (1/3 of his profits) from this one cd that's not on a major label (I assume)? Is $120K a normal profit for a recording like this? I doubt it. At $13.00 a pop they would have to sell in excess of 9000 copies to generate $120K and that is before expenses. Has anyone ever heard of this guy? Don't get me wrong I think it's a fine cause and I wish him the best of luck. I'm curious though, is the goal 1/3 of the profits or $40K?

Watching TV this morning I saw a story that mentioned Buck was performing Friday night in Bakersfield and had to leave the stage in the middle of the show.

This is most interesting. I missing some of the earlier big band leaders, although I do have a lot of them on compilations I bought when first exploring jazz. Fletcher Henderson Chick Webb Jimmie Lunceford.... Although I've got plenty of Basie and Ellington. Others that come to mind.... John Patton Albert Ayler Jack McDuff Larry Young I'm sure there are plenty more. The "only have a little of" would be a long list.

I'll save my worst for when you disagree with or try and correct me on something. Until then, please accept this welcome as a gift on the day of my daughter's wedding.
