  1. Wow!
  2. So, there was some Lou Levy on the BFT. Too bad for me I picked him on a completely incorrect track.
  3. Nice! Guess what that Candoli (track 5) is backordered through cduniverse. I suspect there is no chance of finding the Mal Waldon on cd? Very impressed with track #3.
  4. Couw is away until later this month. I was afraid of that.
  5. Maybe couw knows?
  6. Seems as if the rates in the are really good. Washington Suites Georgetown The Melrose Both of these places are under $200 a night. What about Dupont Circle/Kalorama?
  7. What's the deal with the area known as Foggy Bottom?
  8. I take it that's an unfortunate type-o? Ooops... Obviously it was supposed to be "funky".
  9. Sorry I'm so late. This was a great compilation, thanks for including me. Here we go.... 1. Is that Clifford Brown at the beginning? It sure sure sounds that sweet. Next thing I know it's all over.... 2. Gotta like this one. Perhaps Jimmy Heath on tenor???? I'll look for the answer on this, I love it. Strong from start to finish. 3. Beautiful! On the piano is either Bill Evans or at the very least someone Bill Evans influenced. 4. Somewhat explosive. Strong piano solo, and righteous alto. Parts of the tune seem very familiar. I'm curious. 5. Old school all the way. And ain't nothing wrong with that. I'll be looking for it. It better still be in print. 6. Damn, for some reason I think that is Lou Levy on piano. Something west coast perhaps? I'm a sucker for this stuff. I think the tune is "My Romance" 7. Nice, real nice. Muted sound has got to be "Sweets" Edison? Not sure on the tenor, maybe Bud Freeman... 8. Another beauty. Tenor is deep like a Houston Person. If so I'll guess Richard Wyands on piano. I'm probably wrong. James Clay? Dexter Gordon? 9. Jackie Mclean with????? Is this sampled stuff? 10. Tenor seems familiar but I'm lost on the track and the work of the piano player. 11. I'm at a total loss for guess on this. I liked it though. 12. That ain't Diana Krall is it? No way brownie would do that to us. Very pleasant, but I have no idea. 13. hehe I thought this was "Sidewinder" at the beginning. Nice little fucky piece. Tenor work was real nice, seems like it should be one to pick up. 14. The organ loses me. 15. Sounds like an older recording. Is this some Konitz and Marsh? 16. Damn that sounds like the dude from earlier on, but this time with Art Pepper. Thank again, Guy. Sorry my input is so weak. Alos thanks to John B for sending me the second copy.
  10. Addio, Jackie McLean. I really wanted to see him perform before he passed. This again proves how we can't waste time waiting for the next time. Thank you for the wonderful music. R.I.P.

    Harold Land

I love the guy, All that Brown and Roach stuff with Harold Land on it was some of the first jazz cds I was bought. His leader dates are among my favorites. Very consistent and a good way to be introduced to some fine lesser known trumpet players.
  12. Second cousin on her mother's side.
  13. There is reason enough to not want to buy it. Seriously, I heard some sound samples on cduniverse. The samples didn't do much for me. It's probably produced by MusicBoy.
  14. Do you drive with snakes around your neck?
  15. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I think we will probably drive or take the train so she can see some of the country side. Looks like the toughest decision may be picking an area to stay.
  16. What a pansy. Doesn't he know that women don't like to date wusses? I thought being scared of snakes didn't count. I mean we're all afraid of snakes, right? If it was me I would have run the damn thing over until it was part of the asphalt. Of course if it was me I would not have had a snake in the car to begin with, let alone warpped around my friggin' neck.
  17. You wonder some strange things. (But then again, his TV wife was pretty hot...) hehe Don't worry, I'm really not wondering about Gabe Kaplan and Jessica Alba. Me and Jessica Alba, yes.
  18. I'm not looking to spend $500 a night buy will go $200. I think I need more help with the best party of the City to stay in. For me the main attraction is The Smithsonian. And yes, I'm cool with Metro.
  19. If so, I would have had to dispute it since I saw Elvis driving a BoarsHead truck earlier today in Astoria.
  20. It's friggin' beautiful! After a cold spell for the last couple of weeks, temps have taken a turn for the better and it really feels like spring. We should hit 70 on friday.
  21. I just saw a commercial for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards with multiple Jack Black's dancing around. I guess he'sthe host. Could he be anymore annoying than he is in that commercial?
  22. I hear you. It's just, I seemed to have lost my taste for the game and it has yet to return. It's a mixture of all those multi-million dollar selfish cry babies, the loss of real personalities, and a season that seems to be getting longer every year. I know kids like James are out there, but for me they get over-shadowed by all the bullshit. Maybe next year.
