  1. You have the option of doing it your way. I prefer to do the PayPal route because then it's paid for, from money I have now, and I just prefer that. Options are good.
  2. Oh I do that each time I have to . . . and it does help. Sorry to read about your Mom, keep thinking of the good times and best of luck with your service.
  3. Thanks. Now playing Hank Mobley "Soul Station" Audio Wave XRCD
  4. Yes I know. The bar is high for me. My Dad won a national speech making contest when he was 18 which partially funded his first few years of college. And he was a fantastic writer and deliverer of sermons. And he always took pride in how well I would make readings at a service or speak in public etc. So. . . I want to do this flawlessly, and knows that it will be okay if I don't.
  5. I'm just hoping I can get through it without breaking down even slightly. It's been a very emotional month, and there's going to be a lot of people present.
  6. Thanks. I'm glad to be at this point and hope to be beyond soon.
  7. Finished something I've been dabbling with for a few weeks, a short address I am going to make at my father's funeral Saturday. Feels so good that it's done, and I'm happy with it. When I closed the document for some reasons, well perhaps knowing my Dad an obvious reason, I thought of the Coltrane composition "Spiritual" so I put on a disc from the Village Vanguards box. John Coltrane "The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings"
  8. "Meet Betty Carter and Ray Bryant" Legacy cd At first I was only going to listen to the mighty Betty's part of this (which includes all the material on the excellent LP I have "Social Call") but darned if the Ray Bryant trio portion isn't sounding excellent today.
  9. Scott confirmed for me via email that if one pre-ordered via PayPal you're all set, no further action required.
  10. Joel Ross "Who Are You?" Blue Note cd
  11. Charles Mingus "The Lost Album at Ronnie Scotts" Resonance cd 3 This is my second time through this new release. Certainly not essential Mingus, but a fun listen none-the-less.
  12. Amazon had this so cheap briefly that I ordered it. Playing the stereo mix right now.
  13. Red Garland featuring Leo Wright "I Left my Heart. . . ." Muse/32 Jazz cd, recorded live at the Keystone Korner.
  14. It's a record that long fascinated me. . . I have mono and stereo ups and several digital editions (of which the Impex is the best sounding). I love the material, the arrangements, and especially the piano introductions to many of the tracks. I'd take this to a deserted island; I always get so much out of a spin. Greg Osby "Zero" Blue Note cd Hard to believe this was 23 or 24 years ago. Sounds like a newer release. I'm glad I pulled it out of the stacks.
  15. Charles Mingus "The Lost Album at Ronnie Scotts" Resonance cd 2
  16. Hank Mobley "Reach Out" Blue Note Japan 24bit by RVG lp facsimile (gatefold) cd. Wow. This is probably one of the best sounding Japanese RVGs I've ever heard and the best I've ever heard this Mobley date.
  17. Mal Waldron "And Alone" Sony CD SICJ 48 As you might guess, solo piano, and superbly recorded.
  18. Sorry to hear that Kevin. I hope it remains a low symptom case and goes away quickly.
  19. The late Ron Miles "I Am a Man" Yellow Bird Records cd
