I myself can't answer those questions as I've been reading the Stark novels sequentially from the beginning and am finishing up "The Dame" right now. After the Parker novels the Grofield novels are fun but like a diet meal rather than a full calorie delight.

The stuff before those is all over the map: hoppy, bluesy. . . great stuff. Hope it comes out soon. . . I'd love a Mosaic set!

I broke with my usual and bought the two lp set of this one, even though I've had the CD most of the past year and it sounds magnificent. Well the LPs are sonic bliss. I love this album.

Sorry Joe, I'm very sentimentally attached to the CDs, going to keep them! My getting this set. . . the universe will probably immediately compensate by making a new, improved version on CD appear posthaste.

LP 1 of 6. Early in the 'nineties I bought the 5 CD version of this CBS France LP box set. . . I love this music. I also have a lot of this music on volumes of "The World of Duke Ellington," US Columbia LPs. But I found this unplayed box set really cheap via a seller in Japan and it arrived today. I'm like a little kid bouncing with joy. Lucy is amused at my excitement. Great sound!

I've never seen that as a box on cd, but cds were issued early on in Japan.

Yes, she does. But not for long rides. Whereas I love long rides, love to say go to Texas in two days. I guess those days are going to be few and far between! It's rough for me in the winter. . . I really don't like driving cars, I'm getting used to it, but I didn't drive one for more than 20 years in Texas. . . . It got under my skin. At least Lucy doesn't want me to give it up.

Thanks Duane and Clifton. Here is a brief description of the event, and then I'll shut up about it. (I'm very happy). We got married on a dock on a little lake a half a mile from our house out in the woods. Just Lucy and the minister and I. The dock went out onto the lake, which has ice covering most of it. After the minister left we sat on a bench we often sit on looking out onto the lake and just enjoyed the peace and happiness of the event a bit. Within minutes an osprey came flying over the lake and landed on the ice a few hundred feet from us and ice fished a fish out of the lake! He flew off towards us over the lake but from behind us an eagle swooped in and startled the osprey who dropped the fish on the ice and flew off. The eagle landed on the ice about 60 feet from us and sat and ate the fish for a few minutes, then walked about the ice a bit and then flew off away from us over the lake. We've heard of this osprey/eagle situation but having transpire in front of us right after we were married. . . a great experience.

Only one picture really, taken back at the house afterwards. . . it's still Christmas on the mantle!

First LP as a newly-married man. I've had this one since its initial release. I only need to hear a few notes and a mood is presented to me. Memory is a fascinating thing.
