  1. The Giants won on the last at bat again last night, beating the Cardinals, and The Genius, Tony LaRussa. This Giant team looks very good, and very confident, I don't see how the Dodgers or Rockies are going to beat them, the Giant pitching is again the best in the league. The Giants also got their bling last night: Goodspeak's favorite pitcher, Barry Zito, goes this afternoon, we'll see how he fairs today.
  2. That is the truth. It's no wonder Lee Travino hated the place and the people who run it.
  3. Doesn't look like it... He earned over $200MM in his career, according to Baseball-Reference, but won't earn the bulk of his agreed upon 2011 salary. http://www.mlbtrader...ez-retires.html I can almost, almost feel sorry for him...almost. What a fool.... I don't see how he can be in the Hall of Fame now, caught twice doing PEDs, that's just beyond the pale. If voters are not voting for McGiwre, and will withhold votes from Bonds, than Manny has to be out also. So much for "Manny being Manny."
  4. Giant baseball is TORTURE again.
  5. Something about a positive drug test, I think PEDs
  6. Did someone here really say that he thought Phil Hughes would win the Cy Young this year? What a dope...
  7. Can't the Red Sox find a decent catcher, every time he throws to second, the ball winds up in center field. Greesh, Boston already down 2-0, and Lackey looks terrible.
  8. Vikings ate a lot of kale. You gonna call a viking a pansy? Though they probably didn't eat it in chip form. And since this is the Willamette Valley, of course I've had kale growing over winter in the garden. Uff Da!
  9. When I feel like big hats, I want BIG HATS! No.
  10. Thanks for the review, and ditto to what The Moose has to say.
  11. This one looks interesting, how is it?
  12. It was a bad as it get for Boston in today's game: terrible hitting, bad base running, no clutch hits, it was a bad day all around. Now the Yankees come into Fenway, and if the Redsox keep losing, their season, believe it or not, might be in jeopardy. On the plus side, Jon Lester looked great.
  13. If you're buying, I'm drinking. We don't brew any haterade for the Giants down here. We just send cholos to hospitalize them. Kidding, in bad taste. No problem, Jon. They shot a Giants fan a couple years ago. At least this one is still alive. Whoa I just read about this incident. Horrible. http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=6297020 It's just sad what has happened to the Dodgers and the Dodger Stadium experience. I refuse to go to games in person anymore, the atmosphere is terrible, and most definitely, I will not go anywhere close to the left field bleachers, it is way too crazy out there. This once glorious franchise is being run into the ground by the McCourt's, and they could care less, all they want is to steal all the money they can from the fans, and Dodger funds -- I used to be a die hard Dodger fan, but after Murdoch and McCourt, count me out.
  14. Tottenham was toast after Crouch was sent off, very poor playing on his part, it seems to have taken the heart out of 'Spurs..
  15. Giants are not looking too good right now. Madison Baumgartner was taken out after just three innings today, and the defense is atrocious right now, with a weak offense to boot. Hopefully, it's just early season stuff that can be corrected.
  16. I think the Bulls are still improving in their play, and are going to be very tough to beat in the playoffs. My cystal ball says: Lakers vs. Bulls in the finals. The Heat seem to be missing something as a team, and D-Wade seems to be put-out to be taking a backseat to LBJ -- I would so love a one-and-done by the Heat.
  17. Last night was the first time I've been able to watch a game, and I was very underwhelmed by the new ESPN baseball crew -- snoozeville.
  18. This is such a great idea, and one I've never thought of before, but it would make a fantastic movie. I'm sure Hollywood would ruin it by adding an epilogue where Jordon and his son (never made clear in the book if it is his or not) have a touching meeting over a Grand Slam at a Denny's. You know Hollywood can't let that one pass. You're right, of course; if it was made, the result would most likely be very disappointing. Can't tell you how much I love your idea, it really would make a great movie. Wonder if Jordan ever shopped the book around, or made a script of it. I'm trying to remember, but didn't I read somewhere that Jordan is married to Meg Ryan's mother?

  20. Ketchup is okay, but don't get me started on relish -- yuck!
  21. Is anyone counting on Calon for anything? The Yankees will feel lucky with ten wind out of him. Texas looks great. Boston not so great.
  22. I mean: Simce when does anything that Bud does make any sense Darn iPhone, I'm even a worse speller using it.
  23. One of the possible outcomes of the trial is that Bud Selig will declare Bonds home run record wiped out if Bond's is found guilty. Selig hates the idea of Bonds having Aaron's record, and might be his chance to take it away. For the record, I would not agree with that course of action.
  24. "Yankee Hobo In The Orient" by John Patric, is an interesting read. Patric wrote the book about his visit to Japan in the 1930s, and it is very politically incorrect. The book was given to the USA troops to give them "insight" to the Japanese mind. Might be hard to find, I bought my copy at a used bookstore in Mt. Vernon, WA.
