    Donald Ayler

yeah, i just meant that its one of the best free drumming performance ive heard. only one that tops it is probably blackwell on Mu
  5. That's what that group sounded like at that time. I doubt he tailored his playing to the recording. Official release: Are you drinking again? :eye: oh cool though its pretty well known that the record companies wanted him to tame it down for the official live releases
  6. live in japan if anyone hasnt heard this its highly recommended. coltrane didnt know he was being recorded, so he didnt down play his avant side. pretty sure its a bootleg, so if anyone wants, let me know

so i finally got around to listening to that holy ghost 7" and holy shit its one of the best things ive heard never heard of muhammad ali, but he def gives blackwell a run for his money
  8. Yep, and no Pink Floyd, no Nick Drake, no King Crimson, no Zep, no Herbie, no JackieMac...and still no Zappa. I hate to be fatherly even in the forum, it's a full time job with a 18 y/o gremlin around my home, but you see, Baptizum, we that growned up in the album's era, didn't had too much music at hand as you and my son have, so every record we owned, or cassettes, unpayed copyrights, was played hundreds of times. I can sing most of the my favourite vinyls, pops and scratches included, from the first note. So I judge your list as a work in progress...and listen to some other Zappa. WYWH, Pink Moon, and IV would all make top 100 or so. havent heard any herbie (i know i know). king crimson is kinda lol, at least "in the court of" was. im gonna let my noob show here, jackiemac? my list will always be a work in progress. this doesnt mean i dont know all those albums as well as you know your favorites though. but yeah, im fortunate to have access to all the music i do

    Albert Ayler

spiritual unity is prettymuch the best album ever. never heard anything else that he headed
  10. im may be a lonely bastard but yknow, its what you make of it. whatever that means but its true
  11. here you guys go. its a free for all. wise cracks about my young, fertile, attractive and fit age. attacks pertaining to my illegal activities. incoherent attacks on my intelligence. and general threats of violence. including but not limited to! dont be afraid to be creative! alright guys lemme have it! and if your hatred for me ever starts to dwindle, just remember one thing: i can still get an erection!
  12. dont get me wrong. pink floyd kinda suck. i just always considered them prog. never been a fan of traditional prog anyway though

  16. and for the record, this thread was started because i wanted to upload an acid mother temple song and post it in the prog thread.
  17. well, they definitely have prog rock albums. have you heard animals? about as traditional proggy as it gets and bands like amt def still adhere to prog principals. long indulgent ever changing songs, concept albums. Of course I've heard Animals. I heard them play it at Madison Sq. Garden in '77. PF isn't - for me - complex enough to be a progrock band. maybe its just me, but i dont think prog demands a certain level of proficiency, but rather describes a style and approach
  18. as clever as you find yourself to be, im fairly certain my point came across crystal clear No need to insult me, I have no idea what your point is. im sorry you feel insulted and im sorry you dont understand my point
  19. yeah thats probably right. i forgot you could apply distinct rules to huge age groups dont all guys over 30 have ED? maybe theres a link
  20. clearly not huh? you know me pretty well aggie. and no you didnt ask. but you implied that i rarely have $12 to spend on an album. which any grown man would find to be an insult and would likely defend himself. and actually, i can think of a few albums that i have downloaded that i havent and very well could have purchased. all my beatles albums. dont plan to buy them either unless i can find them used.
  21. Judging Zappa on the basis of one or two select albums is a mistake. You shouldn't be so quick to dismiss something you obviously aren't familiar with. *sigh* i hated Karma the first time i heard it. go look at the first post
  22. all of these topics have been addressed. if you would like to discuss something new or know the whereabouts of a copy of seasons, feel free to start a conversation with me edit: sorry one hasnt been addressed; i dont think its your business how much income i receive.
