  1. Eric Dolphy - Out There is sounding pretty darn good to me but I've never heard this album in any other form so not sure if it's a good upgrade or not.
  2. The T/K/M set is one of my favorites out of the few sets that I own but I'm afraid my New Orleans set won't see much time in my cd player. Maybe it will grow on me in time but right now I can only take small doses of it at a time. I'm also thinking about the Capitol Jazz set but that sucker is spendy!
  3. Gota love ebay! Lee Morgan - The Rajah just went for $82.69 so I decided to put my copy up for a Buy it Now of $75.00. It sold within an hour! I'll gladly sell any single cd I own for $75 a shot...some people just have too much money! Now to wait and see if I actually get paid!
  4. Mosaic Select: Bud Shank/Bob Cooper
  5. None of my friends have any idea what a Mosaic is...so I'm safe and if they did, the answer would be a polite HELL NO especially considering I only seem to get back about half the dvds I loan out!
  6. Need some Prestige/OJC/Riverside/Fantasy stuff. You look real heavy on Blue Notes. I think my collection consists of 90% blue notes, my conns aren't even in this cabinet! Definately time to broaden my horizons and add some non-blue notes!
  7. Hope so but kind of doubt it, I'll be crying in my beer if it goes for less than $100...fingers crossed! Ya, I know it's shameful but I made cd-r's of it and that's what I listen to. The box set just sits on my shelf taking up valuable space. I guess I'll have to make a second backup copy before this sells incase the first cd-r's get damaged or lost. No doubt that this is a awesome set that I don't want to be without just don't need the original box on the shelf.
  8. Me and the Mrs. in Colorado a couple years ago. The most recent picture I have, I prefer to be behind the camera instead in front of it.
  9. So how is the Teddy Wilson set? I've been thinking about picking that one up but not sure what it's like.
  10. Illinois Jacquet 12-26-02 followed by Chico Hamilton shortly after that. I'm thinking about the Mobley next but tend to wait till they hit the last chance before I pull the trigger.
  11. Is this disc so bad that it's getting passed on so quickly? sheldonm is already passing it before he gets it!
  12. It doesn't matter what you have OR what you listen to as long as you enjoy it! I definately enjoy listening to my favorite music on a quality system as opposed to the crappy boombox in my bathroom, there is a difference.
  13. Ya, right....first thing you do when you get up in the morning is check ebay for those elusive jazz titles! Well, maybe not the first thing but surely right after your cup of tea and the visit to the throne to read the paper!
  14. That is one of nicest "flexi" racks I've ever seen! I wish I could afford that, those 2" maple shelves are beautiful! I went the DIY route, 3/4" all thread with grade 8 nuts from Fastenal and since my father-inlaw is a cabinet maker, he helped me with the shelves, but only 3/4" veneered mdf. So, what amp did you trade for this? My latest purchase was some eighth nerve room treatments. WOW is an understatement in how this improved the sound in my room!
  15. I just received all ten from Acoustic Sounds. I've only listened to Art Pepper's +eleven so far and it sounds great. I don't have this album in any other version to compare to. Can't wait to give the others a listen.
  16. I'm not sure that it's really a steal but I got a sealed copy of Kenny Dorham - Trumpeta Toccata for $12. One of the few times that I felt like I got a good deal on ebay!
  17. Looks like mgraham333 is the lucky winner!
  18. I got this cd for free from Telarc. I actually like it quite a bit but it's time to pass it along (need to make room in my overflowing cd cabinet). The 1st PM takes it, I'll even ship it within the US for free!
  19. Chico Hamilton Am I missing something here? I know it just went oop but $225
  20. My first and only, so far, live jazz show was Roy Haynes with Dave Holland, Kenny Garrett, Nicholas Payton and Dave Kikoski on May 31, 2003. What a great show it was, it's amazing the energy that Roy has at 77 years! I'm thinking about going to see Maynard Ferguson who's coming to town in March, we'll see.
  21. I've had the Blue Mitchell set for about 8 months now and out of the 10 or 15 Mosaics that I have, this one is my favorite. Good Humor Man is my absolute favorite track on the set.
  22. I'd be willing to sell this one, make an offer...it's in mint condition. My ebay No bids yet and it's also in mint condition. Both in mint condition which I'd be willing to sell. I'm not really interested in trades, I'm trying to thin out my collection right now.
