12.-Don-Rendell-Ian-Carr-Quintet-%E2%80%

From the new Jazzman Rendell/Carr box, just arrived. Mine is no. 946 of 1000, can it really be almost sold out in less than a week. :o

‘Shades of Blue’ first on deck, beautiful stereo pressing, can’t fault it. The LP sleeve is very nicely done with the flipback but suspect that the original artwork may not have been available as not quite as sharp as the orig. Otherwise, can’t fault it. :tup

Nice sturdy box to hold the LPs in as well. Vinyl reissue of the decade !

That will explain it - Jazzman site itself showing ‘sold’ so presumably pre-orders to stores are being fulfilled.

I’ve never seen a box set issue come and go so fast !

I just got the E-mail that I didn't get it after all. They must've only got in a couple of copies. So I guess I'm waiting like everyone else now.

Bummer, sorry to hear that. I suspect demand might have taken them by surprise, as Clifford says, a second run quite possible.

That was such an important album for me. I passed it on only after I acquired all the tracks elsewhere, usually in better sound.
