Sorry @HutchFan missed this yesterday. I just posted my thoughts in the Herbie at Severance Hall thread here

I'll avoid boring everyone with a double post...

Looks like the review didn't post. I will have to try and remember what I wrote now. I'll post again in the Severance thread

Excellent!  :tup

He was such an exciting pianist. Glad he came up in the Blue Note reissues to give him some more attention. I also love Steve Lacy’s interpretations of his work.

I saw that group way back in January of 1984, at the Caravan of Dreams.

Very cool.

That particular line-up -- with Mraz & Foster -- only lasted for one album.  Beginning with their second LP, Quest II, the bassist was Ron McClure and the drummer was Billy Hart.

I've never had a chance to see Quest live, but I did see Liebman & Beirach as a duo at Mezzrow back in 2019.

Whenever I see this LP, I always think that they did the artwork and forgot Harold's name, so they stuck a sticker on it. :)

Ross Tompkins and Good Friends (Concord, 1978)
with Al Cohn, Monty Budwig, and Nick Ceroli

Al Cohn elevates this date, making it something much better than ordinary.

Now that you mention it, it does indeed look like a sticker.  ;)
