ELP Tarkus, continuing a friend's project of transferring her husband's LPs to CD.

Jeezus this is terrible. No wonder these guys were so vilified! Just when I think side one is about to end, it starts back up again. I hope these guys were fun to see in concert cuz they're a dreadful bore on record!

Big Al - You must check out the BBC4 'Prog Rock' programmes this week (ELP feature quite heavily). Carl Palmer's 2 ton steel drums (humungous HGV haulage vehicle required)and giant gongs are featured !

sex Pistols - NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS - Virgin, picture disc.

Whats the picture of. A bollock? :g

'...at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 24 November 1977, defending Queen's Counsel John Mortimer produced expert witnesses who were able to demonstrate that the word "bollocks" was actually a legitimate Old English term originally used to refer to a priest, and which, in the context of the title, meant "nonsense".'

That's good old English law for you.

John Mortimer QC - as in the writer and TV wit who did the 'Inspector Morse' TV series etc I guess (was it Morse? - I'm not sure). Sounds just like one of his quasi-legal stunts anyway !

The Swan Silvertones - Vee-Jay (Everest)

The Swan Silvertones - Vee-Jay (Upfront)

The sound on this 78 is bleedin' fantastic! Clear as a bell! Why did we ever go over to vinyl?

Don Patterson with Booker Ervin--Hip Cake Walk (Prestige, blue label, mono)--This sure is a good sounding record, Don Patterson in particular leaps out of the speakers into the room.
