clifford_thornton
So would that be a "great find" or a "not-so-great find" ? I think I'd even pass on a holy grail if it had a chip out of the vinyl...

As a collector even the cover in itself will satisfy me...the record will fill it, till i find a better copy, really collectable.
clifford_thornton
So would that be a "great find" or a "not-so-great find" ? I think I'd even pass on a holy grail if it had a chip out of the vinyl... What if it was 50c or a dollar? I'd buy a candy bar. I have very few "filler" copies in my collection; would rather wait until the copy I want comes along. Then again, I consider blue-label BNs or green-label Prestige vinyl "keepers" if they're in fine shape. It's the Meriendorfstrasse FMPs that I'm picky about... Chuck Nessa
So would that be a "great find" or a "not-so-great find" ? I think I'd even pass on a holy grail if it had a chip out of the vinyl... My first copy of Cecil Taylor's Transition date (picked up in 1966) was worn white and sounded like it. Kept that copy after I found a good one and got more than a few bucks for it when I dumped vinyl.
