ghost of miles Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Hey all, Here are some links to WFHB, the Bloomington, IN community radio station where I host a jazz program every other week. I'll be playing four or five cuts from Quartet Out's LIVE AT THE MEAT HOUSE, so catch the sizzle this Wednesday night from 6-9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. I have some programs planned for the end of May at WFIU, our local NPR affiliate, but here's your chance to hear Jim Sangrey & co. over the airwaves: WFHB1 WFHB2 If those don't work, try pasting either www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=9054641&addr=129.79.21.137:9198&file=filename.pls or http://129.79.21.137:9198/listen.pls into whatever media player your computer uses. RDK Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Cool! If I can dial you up on my computer at work I'll be listening this afternoon (3-6 my time). Ray Quote
Joe G Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 Dammit, I'm just going to have to buy this disc, the way everyone's been posting about it! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 We should see if Sangry would accept a trade. Quote
ghost of miles Posted May 7, 2003 Author Report Posted May 7, 2003 Up for broadcast in about an hour and a half. I'm going to play at least four and possibly five tracks from the CD, along with music from Big John Patton's GOT A GOOD THING GOIN', Charles Mingus' JAZZ COMPOSERS WORKSHOP (Savoy), Freddie Hubbard's BLACK ANGEL, Miles Davis' BOPPIN' THE BLUES, and the Vandermark 5's AIRPORTS FOR LIGHT, as well as a number of vocal tracks. shawn·m Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Nice show, ghost. Forgive my ignorance, but I wonder if that was the first time a Sngry composition ever received air play? Quote
pryan Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 I agree, nice show. Good variety too of styles, eras, etc. A thumbs up icon is needed. Quote
catesta Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 I need to start paying closer attention to things. I'm sorry I missed this. Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Dammit, I'm just going to have to buy this disc, the way everyone's been posting about it! That's doable! Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 We should see if Sangry would accept a trade. As is this (but don't tell anybody, ok?) Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 David - Sorry for the late reply, but a thousand+ thanks for this. The same also to all who have responded so warmly here and on the other boards. You guys are great! Wish some (all) of you lived in Dallas - we could actually have a thriving scene, or some semblance thereof. I'd like to say more, and might have the time to do so later, but for now, please accept this brief but sincere message as my warmest and deepest thanks. Quote
