Ray Drummond the bassist, like many other first-call rhythm section cats is on so many records and CDs.

Rather than start a poll based on the little which I DO have, I thought I would start a thread with recommendations of stuff he led or stuff we're he sounds particularly good.

Look forward to your responses.....

Great bass sound. I have heard him live on several occassions with David Murray and always enjoyed the experience. In addition to at least one recording under Murray's leadership, Ming's Samba I would recommend Drummond's Arabesque recording, Vignettes, which features some great playing by Gary Bartz and Chris Potter.

So many to choose from - this guy gets around! But I've always liked the album "Alter Ego" by James Williams with Billy Pierce, Bill Easley, Ray Drummond and Tony Reedus. Also some Brecon Jazz Festival 1995 material with Kenny Barron and Ben Riley.
