ghost of miles Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I'll try to tune in for this, Steve. Please send Bill a very grateful happy birthday wish from me--I frequently turn to his VeeJay recordings and his album with Oscar Peterson for on-air play. Much appreciation from this Indiana jazz fan! Quote
MartyJazz Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 His version of "My Funny Valentine" from that Vee-Jay set is my all time favorite vocal of that well done standard. Wish him a happy birthday for me and tell him also how much a kick I get whenever I recognize him in the various small film roles he gets. Quote

BFrank Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 RIP, Bill. Sad that his passing will no doubt go largely unnoticed with the near-simultaneous high profile obituaries of Gato and Merle. Quote
mikeweil Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 The sound of his voice was the kind that you never forget - R.I.P. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 He was also an decent actor, seemed to be a nice man and was easy to work with. His brother Finis was another story. Quote
