How many CD’s does a popular jazz artist sell?

The only indication I have is the fact that hatOLOGY CDs are released in editions of 3000 CDs, which usually are around for a couple of years.

On my copy of Dave Liebman "Bookends", it says "2nd edition of 3000 CDs". Liebman would be in the same selling league as Tyner I guess. But HatOLOGY CDs are rather expensive (the Liebman 2CD set costs $27), and more difficult to find in the US than most jazz labels.

Leibman selling in the same league as McCoy? No way. Not even close. I'd be willing to bet McCoy sells at least twice as many copies as Liebman of any new release in the last 10 years.
