Bluerein Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Hello all, just got the word the next batch of reissues of Mighty Quinn are available for pre-order. Release date is still october 11th. They are: PEPPER ADAMS - CRITICS CHOICE HAROLD LAND - TAKE AIM EDDIE CONDON AND EDMUND HALL See MIGHTY-QUINN.NET for details. Quote
jazzbo Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 That Eddie Condon is EXCELLENT, and extra tracks. . . . I may have to preorder that one. Quote
bertrand Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 The Land and the Adams have hit my radar screen like a fly on a windshield. I have not dealt with Mighty Quinn before: are they only available through mail order, or would they show up at Borders' or Tower.com, where I might be able to get 'em cheaper with coupons, sales etc.? Also, along with Water, this is the second label that is licensing Blue Note stuff that I know of (third, if you count the One-Way Moto Grosso Feio fluke). Are there any others out there? Although they cost more, I like the idea of getting my BN rarities from someone other than EMI. Plus, I bet Water and Mighty Quinn will never do the copy protection thing. Bertrand. Quote
bertrand Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) Oooh...their site also mentions Colpix. Could we finally see a reissue of Golden Boy? Bertrand. Edited September 30, 2005 by bertrand Quote
robviti Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) I have not dealt with Mighty Quinn before: are they only available through mail order, or would they show up at Borders' or Tower.com, where I might be able to get 'em cheaper with coupons, sales etc.? they can be purchased cheaper elsewhere. for example, buy.com has the lou rawls and don ellis for 12.98 with free shipping on orders over $25. buy.com frequently offers coupons for extra savings as well. in addition, overstock sells them for 12.78 and they're 12.59 at cd universe, but both of these vendors charge for shipping. do a froogle search on the title you want and go for the best deal. bertrand Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Thanks - I hadn't had time to search, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a 'mail order only from Mighty Quinn and nowhere else' kind of deal like Mosaic has. Bertrand. Quote
Tony Pusey Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I bought my Don Ellis in the local bricks and morter in Helsingborg! ( Plug for Folk and Rock) Quote
