one further option -but only if you find a european shipping address (as the swedish online shop only ships within EU)- is here

Cheers, Tjobbe

EDIT: amazon.de does also have listed this Dragon 4er for 45€ +S&H (but not sure if they can really get it in stock)

Here's a link to the Dragon site itself: www.dragonrecords.se. Because there are other, more accessible sources that carry their catalogue, this is mostly for informational purposes, but be advised, delving into the Dragon inventory can be hazardous to your fiscal well-being.

BTW, I heartily endorse your pursuit of the Davis Stockholm recordings. IMO, they are indespensible.

Up over and out.

Lon,

I was purusing the Dragon site a couple of days ago. My understanding from a very old Penquin Guide to Jazz was that Lars Gullin recorded five sessions for Dragon as a leader. Turns out there are eight CD's of his available. The three I was unaware of are Vol. 6, "The Sidemen" (DRCD 391), Vol 7. "Silouette" (DRCD 395) and Vol. 8. "Danny's Dream"(DRCD 396). Vol. 6 appears to be more of a compilation of sessions Gullin recorded with others, but on 7 & 8, it looks like he's the leader. I will be pursuing these other CD's, as I have something of a Jones for Gullin's work. Of all the guys who have hoisted the big pipe (Mulligan, Chaloff, Adams et al) he's my favorite.

Up over and out.

amazon.co.uk have it at £28.99 (and say that they will dispatch within 24 hours)

I have a 4 disc 1960 set at the Olympia. March 21 with Coltrane and October 11 with Stitt. It's on the Europe1 label. Looks like it may be a boot. Does anyone know how this compares to the Stockholm set?

The Miles Davis Olympia set is as legitimate as the Stockholm set. I love that one but prefer the Paris box. Coltrane goes on a wild ride in the first Olympia concert and the end result is stupendous!
