jazzbo Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Yes I stood in line to mail some packages this morning . . .about twenty minutes. I didn't need 2 cent stamps, but most everyone ahead of me did. I knew weeks ahead of time that the rate was going up. . . ! I guess I was alone! Quote
Dan Gould Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Its definitely been a pain in the ass at the PO lately, between holiday shipping and now the postage increase. Last time, I used the automated machine thingy for my package shipping, which is great because its as if no one understands what it does and you can beat a huge line in a minute or two. Now with the two cent increase, if things don't improve, I am thinking about using my last half packet of .37 stamps two at a time til they're gone, then buy a new roll at the new price. Call it my way of helping the USPS fight that never-ending operating deficit. And, keep my sanity by avoiding those lines. Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Just buy a whole new book of 39 cents stamps at a grocery store then stop at the post office in a couple weeks to get your 2 cents stamps. No big deal! Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Just buy a whole new book of 39 cents stamps at a grocery store then stop at the post office in a couple weeks to get your 2 cents stamps. No big deal! Connie's WAY smarter than he looks. Quote

RDK Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Now with the two cent increase, if things don't improve, I am thinking about using my last half packet of .37 stamps two at a time til they're gone, then buy a new roll at the new price. I wonder what they'd do if you tore up an unused .37 stamp into three or four parts and used those... Quote
RDK Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Meanwhile, I think i still have a pile of .02 stamps left over from the last price hike. Quote
BERIGAN Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Meanwhile, I think i still have a pile of .02 stamps left over from the last price hike. I remember some comedian saying a few years ago how terrible it was that we had to pay something crazy like 33 cents to have a letter mailed a lousy 3000 miles! Quote
