According to the Chicago Tribune

It's not telling too much to reveal that the next few episodes will deal with the gang and Tony's family in crisis. There will be ugly, undisciplined jockeying for money and power, with Silvio (E Street Band member Steve Van Zandt) temporarily in charge, egged on by his Lady Macbeth-like wife (played by Van Zandt's wife, Maureen).

Interesting.

Honestly I'm not so sure I see why people would be upset with Silvio in charge.

Maybe it's Paulie that splits then down the middle.

Yeah, he's gonna make it, I'll bet. But in what condition, I don't know... Death would actually be "redemption" for him in a lot of ways, and I don't know if that's what or where the writers are going. We shall see...

Interesting device, the "dream/coma sequences". Interesting this one episode, that is. Too much of it though... It's the shrink thing taken to another level. Here, he's actually become the guy that he often thought that he might be somewhere deep inside. And how does the diagnosis of Alzheimer's in there correspond with his "real-life" brain damage? We shall see...

What'll be really interesting to see is if AJ really carries out his promise to whack Junior. It would be just like the little loser to make that the one thing in life that he actually succeeds at on his own. We shall see...

I thought they kind of belabored a point, but the hour still went by very quickly. The writers have shown they can go anywhere they want with this and pretty much carry it off; so, while I doubt AJ will succeed in an attempt on Junior's life, it's not beyond possibility. I can see several scenarios developing out of that, but I really doubt that's the direction they will take.

But...assuming Tony survives (I think he will), is this a life altering experiance for him, or will he be right back to business as usual?

I wonder who Paulie is shooting at in those previews? No cracks yet in the Silvio, Paulie, Christopher team. The guy in worst standing here is Vito, but he's a big earner, so he's safe unless he makes a bad move....and he did piss Paulie off already.

Im guessing AJ kills junior, and that is how he gets pulled into the mob.

I really hope there is no more dream sequence next week. I was amazed at fake Tonys voice change, very subtle but a great 'lame white middle america' accent.

Well, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, really. A loser with low self-esteem either way. Could suicide be in the cards for him?

Vito's secretly gay, remember? And Amber's fiance knows this.

I don't AJ as a suicide. He's too much of a self centered spoiled brat. Anything negative in his life is just an excuse for indulgent behavior. He'd just probably eat more if he got depressed.

I think Paulie knows the score. He wouldn't let Vito take AJ home. If so - then Vito knows Paulie knows.

When was Vito's suicide comment? Before or after Paulie wouldn't let Vito take AJ.

That being said...Vito is also an extremely unlikely suicide candidate.

I thought the episode was weak. I've never been a fan of the dream scenarios.

I'm guessing Tony comes out of the coma and is only a little screwed up. However I think he will decide enough is enough and wants to leave the life or turn over control. How ironic would that be?

Maybe, maybe not.

AJ isn't killing anyone, except me with his bad acting. <_<

If Vito dies it will be at the hands of Paulie and Christopher and it probably won't happen this season.

I see Chrsitopher now owns Johnny's Maserati.

I know this is re-visiting last weeks episode, but I there was a big problem with the writing.

Johnny Sack is a boss. How would him being in jail cause a finanical hardship of the magnitude he would have to sell his car and maybe lose his house? Aside from increased attorney fees what changed?

A boss is not on the street making collections.

Everyone still has to kick up and probably kick up more to keep him happy. It's not as if business stops.

You saw the discussion with Silvio stating the case he would collect and hold Tony's take, and pass money on to Carmela. Meanwhile a boss of major NY family is in jail and can't rub two nickles together.

I'm sorry but that just doesn't ring true.

And I'm not so sure the reason Paulie was fighting with Vito about taking AJ home had anything to do with knowing Vito is gay. I took it as more along the lines of pure ass kissing.

...And if I remember the dialogue correctly, he's awaiting trial.

He can't make bail?

I agree - it doesn't ring true.)

Along the lines of ass-kissing, Christopher stole Paulie's idea about the CD player for the hospital room. Not that that matters.

It might.

Two unrelated points: When Carmella sets up the portable stereo in Tony's room, she plays one of his favorite CDs--the first song played is Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water". This is the very song that was playing on Tony's car stereo when Tony blacked out behind the wheel and crashed his car--how many seasons ago now?

If you record the show and hit the pause button during the first time that Tony looks up at the helicopter light in the dream sequence, you will clearly see the face of the physician treating Tony for his gunshot wounds looking at him from behind the light. The physician's face fills the screen.

Christopher and Meadow are going to be an item. It's a given.

Also, whoever decides to clip AJ is OK in my book. Perhaps uncle Jun?

Speaking of Christopher...

Did you catch when he was talking to the FBI guys and they asked for info on any possible suspected terrorists he may have seen, blah...blah...blah..?

Meanwhile, five minutes later he says hello to two middle east guys/friends in the Bing that give best wishes for Tony's recovery.

Anything?

Maybe, maybe not. Only the shadow knows.... :w

Coupla more things -

1. Tony's wife's voice on the phone in the dream sequence is not Carmella's. It's Charmaine's.

2. Hotel sequence could be purgatory, or it could be that Tony entered the witness protection program in Arizona under the name Kevin Finnerty. BTW, that's where Sammy the Bull Gravano ended up. Carmella calls Tony "the Bull" repeatedly.

3. Tony spends this whole season in a coma and the war ensues. AJ takes a center stage and becomes the acting boss of the family.

3. Or it could be that I am full of shit, probably as much as we all are in respect to the predictions of what happens next in the show. I don't remember any one of us making any sense in the end.

the person gets my vote. can't stand that kid and, besides, he's a lousy actor! the scene in intensive care was an opportunity for him to show his chops but he proved that he ain't got any!

Losing weight and growing his hair out did nothing for his acting ability or confidence.

He acts just like he did when he was a young fat kid, bad.

My guess, he is related to someone of importance at HBO or involved in the production of the show.
