The guitarist has me wondering too. Is Billy Bauer a possibility here?

Nope.

Could the guitarist be Mike Pingatore who is listed as playing himself in the credits? He is also known as Mike Pingitore who played guitar with the Paul Whiteman orchestra and also on sessions with Billie Holiday.

I'm not so sure about Jack Lesberg being the bass player...

hello all,

david meeker in his online version of jazz on the silverscreen writes that stuart foster is on acoustic double bass. no words about the guitar...

keep boppin´

marcel

Stuart Foster was not a bass player but a singer who performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra at the time of the making of the film (1947)!

Is there any way to save these videos into some kind of file ?

Well, in case you haven't seen it, the film is just terrible! And the film quality isn't much better, since it is in the public domain. Still worth watching once for the music. You can buy the vhs for a song, and the DVD is not that much more... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-h...&Go.x=18&Go.y=4
