paul secor Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 I was hoping that there'd be a Jackie Mc in the second bunch. Ah well, somewhere down the line .... Quote
Free For All Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 (sorry, can't find an image for the Etta James CD) Perhaps because you meant to look for Etta Jones. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Montg, thanks for the note about the Lockjaw, I added it to my Miles and Etta order. Quote

Parkertown Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I thought I heard the Miles release would be "Workin'" not "Walkin'." Eh? Quote
jazzbo Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Maybe "Workin'" and "Walkin'" are someone's James and Jones. . . . I've preordered Walkin' from cduniverse; love this album. Quote
Claude Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I thought I heard the Miles release would be "Workin'" not "Walkin'." Eh? A "Workin'" RVG wouldn't make much sense, since a 3CD set with the complete Miles/Coltrane sessions for Prestige is being released at the same time. Quote
Parkertown Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 You're probably right, Claude. I said I wasn't sure... Quote

Claude Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Yusef Lateef, Eastern sounds This was announced as a K2 remaster, but never materialized. I would have preferred the K2 reissue. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Yusef Lateef, Eastern sounds This was announced as a K2 remaster, but never materialized. I would have preferred the K2 reissue. Not me! Will be glad to have this one and the Monk as RVGs! Quote
Brad Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I didn't see where Eastern Sounds is mentioned in the Concord New Releases Page. Is there some other link? Also, there's mention of Monk and Coltrane Complete Sessions but I didn't see Monk and Rollins unless that's what Cayetano was referring to. Quote
cayetano Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) These five RVG's aren't yet on the concord web, but this is the cduniverse link to Monk & Rollins: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...349967386&BAB=D Edited June 7, 2006 by cayetano Quote
BruceH Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I still only have Walkin' on vinyl. This may be the time to finally get it on CD. Quote
GA Russell Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Five more Prestige RVG's (July 18): Mose Allison, Mose Allison sings Mose Allison Sings is a compilation of vocals. I got it in college. It has been available for about two decades as Greatest Hits. You can get that at Your Music. Quote

True...but the mastering on Greatest Hits is ancient and I'm really looking forward to what Rudy can pull off with these tracks. Plus...Mose Allison is "da shit". Quote
