JSngry
I prefer the second album, but not enormously so. They're both of a piece.
milestones20
I also prefer the second album. However, this one is plenty good, too. Edited June 22, 2006 by milestones20
david weiss
I always preferred Impact and when I turned people on to Charles' big band stuff I'd always play impact first. However, I've been getting into the Music Inc and Big Band record more and more lately. It really charges out of the gate with Ruthie's Heart, which is still in the book and one of my favorities to play.
Enterprise Server
I enjoyed both. I've always been a big fan of Charels Tolliver's. I recall my buying my first Strata East record back in the early 70's. It was his quartet recording, Live In Tokyo. I was hooked!

An excellent collection for anyone who likes Tolliver.
Daniel A
I'll differ: I prefer the earlier album. Partly because of the music, partly because the recording is much better.
mrjazzman
I recently purchased the Mosaic set and the LP Paperman, fantastic music..................
felser
I'll differ: I prefer the earlier album. Partly because of the music, partly because the recording is much better. I also much prefer 'Music Inc & Big Band', more fire and immediacy, but they're both well worth having, as is everything by Tolliver. Still longing for a CD of 'Paper Man'! "longing for a cd-r of "Paperman". Not a problem. If you don't care what it sounds like, and you email me your address, I will send you a cd-r. I would love to have a cd-r of Music Inc. & Big Band...........
