It's been 45 years since the making of this very special night of jazz.

To the best of my knowledge, this material hasn't been collected up into a unified (single) multi-CD issue (box set) as yet -- has it??

When that happens (as it most certainly will, someday), about how many discs are we talkin'?? In other words, how much material is there (total minutes), divided by about 75 minutes per disc.

Also, anything unreleased from these dates still in the can??

The 10 tracks can fit on 2 CDs. So, they could make a package like the Monk/Coltrane. However, the Monk/Coltrane had some extra stuff NOT IN THE RIVERSIDE box, so there could be extra Dolphy stuff as well, especially since it's live.

My guess is they will find a way to stretch it to 3 CDs. It's definitely long overdue.

BTW, does the Monk/Coltrane contain 'Monk's Mood'?

Bertrand.

I have not heard two of the more obscure tracks.

I first had the music on three Prestige records.

I have heard it said that the "regular" pianist was Jackie Byard.

Mal was subbing for him on July 16.

I think the music would have been quite different if Byard had played the gig.

He is a very different rhythm section player and soloist from Waldron.

(Duh?)
