For instance, if I want to find archived posts dealing with Clarence Shaw , I punch in "Clarence Shaw" and get 42 pages of posts that contain either Clarence OR Shaw. Is there a way to search for a "phrase"?

It hasn't been fixed because it's supposed to work but doesn't. You're supposed to be able to use quotes to surround a phrase, such as typing "clarence shaw" in the search box.

But as you know, it doesn't work. When I've explained this to Invision, they just say "it should work". So I'm not really sure what to do.

this has been remarked earlier: you can search on organissimo.org via google. just write site:organissimo.org behind your google search query, like, for clarence shaw search for

"clarence shaw" site:organissimo.org

on google

I had that same trouble when I looked up John Coltrane -- every "John" would be included. Now I just type in Coltrane and that helps, I also do that with other artists names (type in the most unique half of the name), it seems to thin things out.

I used to do that too but finally switched to google when I wanted to search for Joe Guy :)
