Chuck Nessa Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 This short is included in the dvd portion of BMG's Duke Ellington "Centennial Collection". Quote
JSngry Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 Did the basic "record making" process ever really change all that much beyond what is shown here? Quote
Kalo Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Chuck Nessa Posted Yesterday, 11:48 AM This short is included in the dvd portion of BMG's Duke Ellington "Centennial Collection". That's where I saw it. The DVD alone makes this set worth getting, as it includes the great 1934 "Symphony in Black," five different soundies from 1941, a 1943 Pathe News short called "Jamboree #7," and a previously unreleased, 11 minute radio interview with Ellington in addition to this "Record Making" documentary. It's also the only Centennial Collection disc to include previously unreleased music, 7 tracks from a February 20, 1941 live broadcast from the Casa Manana in Culver City, California. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 How many vinyl copies can be made from one stamper? Quote
Harold_Z Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 The whole centennial series is worth getting. I have all of them except one (I think the Artie Shaw) and I'll be lookign for that one too. Quote
